if the firmware not up to date, than have no choice but update my self....hope not to hard for me.. sweat.gif

wifi on all time ?
watch movie for how long?
not to bad can last 32 hours
*
It's my phone.Just lend him for while to play around.
Children nowdays adapt to technology pretty fast.Only older generation have trouble adapting.
Took me long time to make my father get used to his phone.

I used wifi probably about 1/2 hours. The movie was about 1 hours.
There was still 15% of battery left before I recharge the phone.Cannot let the battery die at morning cause I got class for the whole day & I don't have secondary phone.

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ Jul 13 2010, 03:27 PM)
Yea some complain it becomes yellowish after used for a long time. My phone is naked hehe.
*
Only protections I'm using are RM10 SP & RM8 cloth pouch.
The phone will be in pouch if I'm not using & I'll use it naked when I want to use the phone.
My phone still sparking & no scratch whatsoever.

No Bro....i think u got the wrong person...

The Nokia can connect? Using WPA2? or WPA? If im not mistaken n900 cannot use WPA2....

Weird...
*
WPA2 is supported with Nokia N900.I'm using this with both my house & university WiFi.

Hey bros,

I just brought a new N900.

The problem is, it comes with an AC-10U charger, which is not compatible with Malaysian wall swtich. Zzz..

Can I use the Nokia AC-10X charger that is used on Nokia N86 to charge my N900.

Another question is, do I need to charge 8 hours for my new phone?

Thanks =)
*
Nokia give a charger converter with N900.You can use most of available changer with it.

No need to charge 8 hours.Once the indicator light turns green, the phone will not change anymore. So choose whether to waste electricity or "extra charge" the battery.

Seems like msn plugins got quite some issues?
My YM plugin working fine since day 1.

Ladies and gents, my ultra hacked, no-more-warranty N900 is bricked... And by that I mean REALLY bricked.

Reflash = no go, it's stuck in the loading indicator. Holy schmoly.

Now I have to go get a replacement, as I don't think anyone would wanna repair it already (with the warranty stickers being all torn up and all).

Oh well. How much for an ori set these days and anybody selling em at Lowyat?
*
hmm.gif
What's the last thing you "hacked" with your phone?
Could be motherboard problem...

Ori set RM2K.Don't think anyone selling them in garage sales.

I think using the starving profile for the OC cause this.If you ask me,that profile just don't provide adequate voltage for the phone.

Devices can be bricked without overheating.
Eiraku was using starving profile while provide much power voltage to CPU.This could cause insufficient power provided & device went kaput.

Software wise bricked phone can be revived
Hardware wise bricked phone, very hard to revive.

@Eiraku
Wait for few hours & try to reflash again.

Will do, I'm thinking it's fsck-ing as well. Worse comes to worst will reflash eMMC and see how - if nothing off to the nearest Nokia Center (which is a good 2 hours away by bus darnit).

It's completely fscking my day up real good though... sweat.gif
*
Well...This is risk we all prepared to take when we start tinkering with N900 tongue.gif

Haiz........anyone???
*
I haven't try this.
If this can solve the stuttering problem then I'll try it.

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jul 21 2010, 01:51 PM)
Lol... Software damage yeah, but this is some fscking hardcore damage we're talking about here lol.

Update on the reflash, eMMC reflash cannot be done simply because it NEVER gets into eMMC flash mode. Which would effectively mean that the eMMC is dead. For good.

Which is not good really.

So, CPU is fine, GPU should be fine, rootFS looks OK and eMMC is dead... Ugh, haveta go on the next bus to kl then.
*
Dead flash memory is real pain.
You can try calling COMSAT for the replacement price.

Going straight to NCC is definitely better tough.

how bad is the batt lifespan? 1 day?  unsure.gif
wow wow~ thats good~ i guess~ only let down is the screen~ 65k color and not multitouch~ anything else i need to take note about the pros n cons of n900?  tongue.gif
*
During weekdays(cause I'll be attending classes)
Fully charged at morning.About 2 hours of WiFi,few more hours of mp3,sms & calls + few levels of angry birds tongue.gif
Battery will be in 20 percent around 11pm.Roughly last for 1 day.

During weekends.
Last about 32++ hours cause I only use to call, sms & very2 light browsing only.

Battery life of N900 is slightly poor compared to other smartphone cause Nokia only provide 1320mA battery compared to other smartphone manufacturer which offers 1400mA - 1500mA batteries.

You can tinker with the CPU settings & power management to prolong the daily battery life though.

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jul 21 2010, 02:33 PM)
Did that already.

Three times.

But to flash eMMC, the Flasher needs to start the phone to a point where it can mount the eMMC to be flashed. This is where it fails as the Flasher NEVER detects the eMMC, at all.

All three times. The phone seems to not be able to detect it either, thus sticking at the loading indicator (endless fsck).

Guess it's confirmed then, I'm the proud owner of the first fully and irreversibly bricked Malaysian N900. Now let's see if NCC can help with that. Anybody know NCC office hours are like how?
*
From what you're saying you can flash rootfs but not eMMC?

Like jananan said, this looks like dislodged eMMC problem now.You did mention last time that your N900 dropped quite a few times right?Since you already operated your phone, perhaps it's time for the 2nd round of operation to fix the eMMC.

sounds reasonable to me~ well~ most likely i will only use it for msn, facebook, email and some light surfing when i am away from my pc or laptop~
coz i oredi have a n86 as my primary phone on maxis line~ this n900 is for my 2nd digi line~ which i will sign up the data plan for 3gb @ RM58 per month~  tongue.gif
*
DiGi line is actually unlimited.
After you reach 3GB quota you don't need to pay anything extra. It's just your internet speed will be downgraded to 2.5G

oh cool~ but how often anyone can finish up the 3gb quota? tongue.gif
thats why i am still planning to get a 2nd phone dedicated for mobile internet on digi line~ as calls and sms only done on my primary maxis line~ smile.gif
*
Come stay with me for 1 day & I'll show you.
Sometimes I can use 3GB in 1 day.Max 1 week tops.
Since you can use N900 as modem(rather easily) I'll leech out the bandwidth in any method I can.

About multitouch on N900,
I think we'll be better off with simple tap & zoom.Much easier to browse that way.
But of course for games this will be useful. Some game writers managed to get around the multi touch tough. For example SPiN.It's actually multitouch game for Iphone but works just as well on N900.

btw, contacts grouping & ringtone on the way.
Individual ringtone already available but need some tweaks.

We may be a very small community but our combined ideas are larger than iPhone communities put together.

The guys at maemo talk are doing great job with the apps & enhancement.

When i used iphone in was like huh this phone is boring without application.
But why i kinda like about iphone is when u run apps there totally no lag
*
I have this problem if I use the 250MHz-850MHz OC profile.
When you unlock the phone the phone will start at 250MHz clock speed.Take few sec(probably 1-2 sec) to step up the clock speed.

You won't have this problem with 500MHz-850Mhz profile.

I'll highly recommend Zitron/Avaxx set for those can afford it or for those who lack technical knowledge.
N900 is a bit complicated piece of phone. Not everyone can fix it if there's a hardware problem.

There's about 70++ N900 users here but Eiraku is the 1st user with completely bricked phone. Not bad for the reliability record.

Visit talk.maemo.com
Good thing is they provide support for the older devices too. There are still apps released for even Nokia N770.

Normal max speed is 1.15GHz with titan kernel
Max speed(with intel stock cpu cooler) 1.8GHz if I'm not mistaken
