hi, I have been observing the daily buying and selling of stock in KLSE, and understand that when there are people willing to sell then we are able to buy. If in this case the selling volume should be equal to buying volume. But why it is not so ? icon_question.gif

selling/buying volumn is the amount of shares where people are willing to sell/buy, there is no transaction for it yet, they are just queuing. if a price is matched, then total volumn increases.

i suggest u go to www.investopedia.com . you can learn the basics of trading there

What I mean is during the transaction where at certain price, let say at price 0.50, the buying volume transacted was 20000 whereas the selling volume transacted was 10000 can we buy when there is no seller

it is because got seller sell at buyer's price / buyer buy at seller's price. Transaction straight done. No need queue.

Understand ! Thank you ! How about the part where transactions done were ' Unknown ' and is not known whether it was done in sell or buy. How to differentiate buy or sell ?

Sometimes, transaction is doen in simultaneously, ie. both buyer and seller key in the same price same amount to be matched at the same time, that matching is done simultaneously, so "unknown" status is given.

analysing stock.

1. check financial report at least 5 years records(income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) ( i.e check generate profit or not, consistent or not, check company debt how big, more than asset or not, got cash surplus or not)
2. check research report from research house, check financial ratios (i.e PER,NTA,ROE,DER,DY, and so on)
3. read newspaper business section at least these two the star business section and business times malaysia
3. check daily volume transaction so that you can trade in liquidity.
4. if day-trading than daily transaction data is important.
5. if know how to use technical analysis even better( look for entry, exit points) use indicitor i.e MA(14,20,31), trend lines, bollindger band(20,2), fibonnaci retracement, chart pattern to identify support/dynamic support/resistance/dynamic resistance and trend up or trend down.
6. dont forget your money management, put stop loss and get out from the market if it move against us.

they are so many things to analysis in stock investing/trading.

there is another method in stock trading without analysis which is Hit and Run, shoot whatever that move without refering to the company fundamental. play this if you dare thumbup.gif

By analysing the daily buy and sell activities is meaningless most the time, it just show particular days of market sentiment on the stocks only.
Nothing fruitfull result can be getting from there.

For TA, better study the charting issue over sometimes, is more meaningful than collecting daily buy and sell activities.
