which is why i think it's great... great because they tried their best to reenact the exact scenario in comic, regardless if its gory or not. it annoys me that up till now most of the movies/dramas based on comics/games are either deviating from the original story or ended up with too much CG becoming like cartoon..
it's sad that the effort the team put in to film the whole episode is being put off with so much criticism, and everyone focus on just that one gory scene instead of the whole story telling..
sometimes the original source hard to put it up on screen due to limited time or budget etc so have to do their own interpretation by deviating. but at least they still try to get back to the original source when possible.
They've achieved what they wanted. Brought back high ratings for the show.
What do you think of this alternate ending?
yep, ratings are important. especially a series 7 seasons in usually don't gain back a high rating and die off. this start for season 7 will generate buzz to keep the series going on.
anyways, waiting for episode 2. looking forward to see how Rick cope with the loss and his new position with Negan.
Negan did THAT to change the way Rick look at him. he wanted Rick to know that his world has changed. no more Ricktatorship. it's "everything belongs to Negan" now. BUT Rick still look at him with anger and rage even after he told Rick to get his axe. even after he bashed two of his family's head. so he decided to ask Rick to chop Carl's hand. which after hesitations and a snot bubble pop on screen, Rick finally obeyed. Rick finally realized that all he can do is do what Negan told him to do no matter what.
it's funny. after all that Negan did, some of the fans think the gore was over the top. imagine Negan just slit Abraham's neck instead of bashed it full force. would that change Rick's mind?
the gore here is needed. to tell the world that there's no stopping of Negan. to tell the fans that Negan is one sick bastard. again, the gore is needed. if the gore was missing, there's no way we could know that Negan is a psychotic bully who dominates the zombie apocalypse world.
Yep. He made Rick go fetch the axe to exert his dominance and Rick still want revenge to kill him, thinking he still has any power. Negan had to put him in his place
but dono la, if think about it properly kinda Rick's own fault. he took over Alexandria, then Abraham RPG-ed Negan's group on the road. After that try to steal Hilltop from Negan and even helped to wipe out his outpost and take their shit.
Negan only killed Glen and Abraham and take their weapons, quite fair already ma.
i keep getting the feeling that sasha and maggi kinda just forced their way into Hilltop... bring their dead to bury there, keep insist on staying even tho it endangers everyone there.. feels like a takeover
What storyline? Just a lot of meandering this season. The acting's been less than convincing and the storyline, it's just all downhill. Comparable to the Beth rescue arc, just a lot of unnecessary plotlines that doesn't make sense to keep people hooked. And Negan, what is he? 12? Who the heck writes his lines? More annoying than intimidating.
i feel like all the main characters are the real assholes. trying to takeover everywhere they go and act as if people owe them. cant really justify their actions even tho they are the main characters
Rick this episode really shows bad parenting. keep want to stay outside to fuck around, meanwhile Judith and Carl dono do what. later Carl sneak out again he dont even know
damn man this series... Rick & gang really look like the bad guys to me.
point a gun at them and telling them they got a choice. literally just robbed the other settlement for their weapons by force. not much difference from the Saviours. probably even worse since Rick gang kill more Saviours than Saviours killed them.
meanwhile Negan saved Sasha from being raped and offered a job even tho she killed his men in the middle of the night

Rick got beaten, wants his revenge. installed Maggie as a puppet leader of the Hilltop and use their men to wage his war. he left Michonne and Carl behind for safety and bring the rest to fight the war vs Negan.
Negan already say he want to resolve the standoff without having sending his people to die. In the Sanctuary, there's alot of innocent men and women inside, other than the Saviours, which most of them are out. Rick wants Negan's boys to surrender but wants to kill Negan. Negan stands in the open but doesn't shoot him. instead he fires at the windows to create noise to attract the zombie horde ... on all the innocent in the Sanctuary. he takes a photo of Negan taking cover, trying to humiliate him as his sign of victory.
everything also he want to take over. too power hungry
I really love this series! I'm looking for some kind of similar TV series. Maybe.. Anybody here have a recommendation for a TV series like this one did?
I feel funny on lots of unnecessary action. 1. Why waste bullet shooting at the glass window? 2. Why not just shoot Negan while they all standing without protection for so long? 3. Jesus, another figure that suddenly being so human 4. Father (sorry forgot his name) another idiot trying to save a snake 5. While they have their cars cover with the metal and come with a hole... why they want to stand open wide shooting rather than hide n shoot with protection? So that few poor ppl can survive
I feel it lost its touch. Now seems Fear the Walking Dead more interesting. Hopefully next episode will be better
its all to attract the walkers from the highway towards the Sanctuary, let them get over run. they wan to hold them there until the zombies come and run away to ambush other posts before they can come to save Negan.. i guess haha
