Hi,

COD'ed my K'cha satrting kit from the seller. Thumbs up for his prompt services!!!!

allow me the urge to spit out:
Rendezvous was supposed to be at 8:00pm last monday, had something came up the last minute, re-sched earlier at 6:00pm, seller said no prob (albeit he had to crawl upstream along the dreadful Jalan Surian rush hour traffic jam during that hour). He even managed to arrive earlier. good, very good.

So,
I ordered an e-book, which is a must have. I asked him (politely of course) "if it's something that I oready knew about, or I could obtain on the net free, why should I yadda yadda yadda...". He said "you won't. It's your call actually" and I am not disappointed, in fact I'm really pleased.

Selling at bargain price (go ask him), a starter k'cha juice, and another pack for the taste. it's just uh! it's really good i gotta tell you! Used to be an apple cider-honey fan. now this is my new Breaking Bad Stuff!

I'm nobody's trying to suck anybody's d*** right here, but I tried to close this deal with other suppliers, but when they treat you like they have a silver spoon stuck up their arse, chances are they don't know their stuff real.

He's the man! will order moar!!

a'ight ladies,
pardon my manners, I'm out motherf***ers.

I met up with mbokoto2 and got the SCOBY starter and managed to start my own brew.
The starter culture came in a nice sealed plastic bag, and with a bottle of mbokoto2 own brew, in a small bottle.
This starter brew is important, as you can use some of it to start your own brew.

Its a simple preparation and I managed to get a good Kombucha tea in around 7 days, with a good new baby SCOBY starter from the original one. I am now starting my second brew after around 12 days, and have 2 SCOBY (the original one from mbokoto2, and the new one that just go created)

Looking forward to learning more about Kombucha tea and its healthy benefits.
mbokoto2 has been very helpful and encouraging me to try this new brew process....

Anyone else willing to give it a try, its easy and fun, and a healthy alternative to all the sodas, bad unhealthy drinks out there. Besides for a few ringgit of tea leaves, you get to have your own abiet fizzy drink that is good for you.

Highly recommended!! thumbup.gif

What other teas have you tried it with?
I am thinking of doing a batch with some organic South Africa Roibos tea and some organic green tea.
The color should look much better than my first batch with black Earl's Grey tea.

Bazli:

What type of tea did you use to brew your first batch?
I used Earl's Grey tea bags, think I used to many of them, it was a bit dark.
But the baby scoby turned out pretty good and plump too.

Hi Noobish and schia and other kombie brewers out there icon_rolleyes.gif ,

Just a quick tip i want to share with u guys since i see ur passion for kombucha brewing is burning.

I call it secondary fermentation. Once u have a brew ready, fill it up to 60% in the ikea glass bottle. Then add in fruit juices to fill up the bottle up to 90%. Cork the bottle, leave it to ferment for another 6 days. And this second brew will have fruity taste . rclxm9.gif depending on the type of fruit juice u add in.

Have fun!

Going to start my third batch in a few days icon_rolleyes.gif For the second batch, I find it started to fizz just after a few days. Tak berani lagi nak buat secondary fermentation. My glass jar so small, can only fill 1.5L, haizz. Dunno where to buy big big one glass jar. I want to make it less sweet but not sure what measurement to use.
