You can try the first one.

Shogun Total War definitely can run on your laptop.

Eh there is a lot of compatibility issue with Shogun Total War. Its a Win 98/ME era game and doesn't always play well with never graphic card. You have been warned. I tried and failed.

I am very likely to get Alienware M17x next year.

If you have the budget for a maxed out Alienware, get Alienware. It is better than other gaming laptops like Asus RoG, as Alienware uses Clevo platform which offers very good cooling. Also, Alienware offers a wide range of options from single GPU to SLi or Crossfire configs.

Aim for the 17inch one, M17x R3, as it's a lot more powerful, better cooling and more options. Cooling is extremely important when it comes to gaming range laptops. The reason i prefer R3, because it has Sandy Bridge processors. Since you are buying next year, the Sandy Bridge flaw should be fixed by then. M17x comes with dual bay hard disk, which is suitable for you since you have a lot of Steam games. It wont fit all, but it will definitely about to take most of them with you.

Warranty wise, it should be covered internationally.

I got really confused with Shogun's tutorial. The turn based part is very confusing, compared to Civ 5. I got the stables, but i still cant get the heavy cavalry. Cant build dojo too.

Some of the empire building options arent that intuitive.

haha, mine is pirated one...maybe this is the point i guess...but how can i solve the CPU core utilisation problem(If there is no other way) ?? i checked from a site (one of the people there comment that choose the dx9 instead dx10 would help). i should try then.  laugh.gif

Seriously, just go and buy the damn game.

Pirated versions are bound to have some problems here and there while original version does not have.
