I've been using the iPad for a couple of months..here here is what I think of them..

I've use a portfolio case by capdase but felt it was too thick..However it gives good protection to the iPad

The casing which I'm using that I would recommend to any one with an iPad is is the speck pixelskin!

It's thin, gives max protection to the back and gives provides a nice grip when holding the iPad..

Cons? Nil protection for the screen...

I saw a guy holding a red iPad cover similar to this...man I tell u..he did look a lil..u know..haha
