i signed up at Midvalley today for the pvr. think it is worth it especially i would now be able to watch on demand rather than linear stream. the time saved is money. so 10ringgit is well worth.
But notice the pvr is without ff, so we would have to watch axn will all the commercial.

what is FX HD? and which package does it belongs in?
*
should be together with AXN else it would be in the Starworld range of numbering
so at least Astro did not make us take the Starworld package to watch FX rclxms.gif

discovery hd could be one of the channel
perhaps starsports hd
or another could be pegging with starworld package so something like 731??

What! No fast-forward!!??  icon_question.gif
so, i only can rewind program? Like that? OMG!!
*
so that some channels subsidized by ad revenue will not complain eg AXN HD sad.gif

just saw Astro's facebook stated FX HD as 'Preview channel'  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  shocking.gif  shakehead.gif  means a month or so later, it will be part of some other package whereby you need to pay extra?  vmad.gif  mad.gif

Why can't we have a proper freeview channel???  We should shut down RTM, took out that slot of others....
*
but if we see their numbering format 701-708 are freeview like AXN to 8tv. and starworld starts from 710 onwards so if it is under starworld bouquet it would be numbered 73* and not 72*

Obviously you can't fast forward a linear broadcast, we didn't invent a time machine.
You can fast forward after you pause or rewind or on playback
*
are we on the same page
are you referring to your astromax?
i am referring to byond pvr
and of course on linear you could only back track (since it could store up to 90min of spooled video on the channel it is switched-on on), pause (buffer) and play
but it ought to have ff to catchup especially through the commercial break, but from their marketing materials it appears there isn't a ff button

yes we are on the same page but you're mistaken as the function is there on both the PVR & the plug & play HDD.

Trust me, I've tested it.
*
so you are astro insider
already have byond pvr

so there is ff for linear catch up and ff for recorded viewing?
yes great rclxms.gif
made the right decision

only now the problem is if the installer could use my tv antenna cable as the 2nd coax cable (fingers cross)

i hv pvr and am trying to record from schedule, but everytime when completed it indicates recording fails....
I do not know why

Another issue is when I was recording HBO HD, I could only watch the worldcup channel1 HD and other channels though indicated on the PVR STB but only remains in either HBO or the worldcup channel...

Why so. Anyone experiencing this or any goaround for this...

Thanks
