I honestly do not think this is due to power constraints, but rather firmware / drivers issues. I am sure when Astro develop the current decoder's software, they have that external hdd in mind. Depending on how much time / effort (man hour = cost) they want to spend to develop for any other external HDD. They will definitely offer more than just one, but don't expect a lot.

Who knows some other external hdd might also work... will know once more ppl pay for the additional RM5 fee

just saw Astro's facebook stated FX HD as 'Preview channel' means a month or so later, it will be part of some other package whereby you need to pay extra?

Why can't we have a proper freeview channel??? We should shut down RTM, took out that slot of others....

I applied the day they lunch at Mid Valley, they only managed to install for yesterday night. You have to wait for your decoder to download the new software in order to able record HD properly; without the latest software update, it will not play the recorded HD channel properly.

Anyway Astro still have lots of work to do for PVR, they should learn from Microsoft or TiVo for function such as record all series / search for title, actor, director….

AXN HD is really nice, but FX suck!!!! 4:3 for HD channel… give me a break!

really? I set the PVR to record it, will check it out later tonight. Honestly I rather they lunch StarWorld or Discovery in HD, rather than FX....

Why we are so dependent on pay tv is because our freeview channel sucks. Well apart from 8TV still watchable, and some other channel from Media Prima still acceptable, they should really kill off RTM (well other than they air World Cup for free)

What is wrong with RTM, they production is looks like early 90's

I hope once we migrate to DVB-T2, more private freeview channels is able to air shows like Glee / British Got talents / NBA….. We really do not want 12 digital channels from RTM… honestly other than watching World Cup maybe (if Astro Sport is too expensive) who ever watch RTM?

Not sure how, but mine start updating itself after i put them on standby for less than 10 minutes. Anyway I also format the HDD and reset the setting back to factory default, because my digital audio wasn't working at first.

I like subtitle as well, but do it like HBO, where you can switch them on or off. It is pretty anoying to have the sub-title on all the way even when you dont really need them.

actually if you have a DVB-T tuner (available in Low Yat's computer store) you can receive 12 channels from RTM's DVB-T trail transmission.. so far the quality isnt great, but better than Astro or analog signal. So far I have no been able to receive any DVB-T signal from Media Prima's tv station...

My guess is that we might be going for DVB-T2, as some memo from MCMC did stated that DVB-T2 is much more efficient than DVB-T, in fact in UK all the freeview HD are on DVB-T2. Anyway RTM air some stupid show on RTMi, although sometimes they did air movie from US.
