QUOTE(eMKs @ Jun 10 2010, 03:29 PM) That's the different between h.264 & mpeg-2. Astro use tremendous amout of compression for SD channel. When you saw HD channel, you'll think SD channel are getting worst. Your eyes adjusting to it But it's true. The SD's pic quality has deteriorate thru the years. It's not new here but the pict quality are just getting worse. It's not about watching HD then your eyes playing tricks on you.(Cause i know the difference) for those who subscribed to Asto for more than a decade viewers, i think they know the differences. Is the SD's picture quality still the same as it was or should be? |

QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Jun 14 2010, 08:29 PM) Some one, please help me... 1.Have you adjust your speakers' gain properly? I have just setup the new HTiB But I can't hear any sound from rear left and right speaker... The channels that I tried to watch in DD was Nat Geo HD and WC HD... the sound also was too low and I only hear a bit of bass... My HTiB was Philips HTS 3373 And which one is the best Delay settings? I afraid to touch that.. so, default settings is used (20ms).. OMG! I will really appreciate your help... 2.Check your audio set up. like Dolby Pro-Logic, DTS or .....etc. Adjust to default. QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Jun 14 2010, 09:46 PM) congratulations to you.. i still did not receive any call from installer yet. 1.Now are all 5 speakers got sound when you watch HD channels?keep update us tomorrow... sure you will be suffering insomnia tonight... Added on June 14, 2010, 9:49 pm 1. Speakers gain? where to find that menu? 2. My audio settings are like this, I setup my audio sources to COAX IN. When watch HD channels, the front panel of my HTiB will show DOLBY DIGITAL. But when I switch back to normal SD channels, it will change to 5 CHL STEREO. And you know, the 5 CHL STEREO are more louder and I can heard all speakers producing the sounds... 2.When you switch to SD, the rear speakers got sound or not? |

QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Jun 14 2010, 09:54 PM) Danny.. Test it on NGCHDthe new PVR are more better than Max? isn't it? Added on June 14, 2010, 9:56 pm 1. I think not. Only Front left, right, center and Subwoofer are producing sounds... Rear left and right i don't heard sound at all.... It's annoying you know... 2. Yes! when switch to SD channels, all speakers producing the balance sounds... 1. On your Philips HT remote, there's SURR button rite? Press repeatedly until MULTI-CHANNEL/DPII. Then the problem should be solved. Tell me the outcome. |

QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Jun 14 2010, 10:06 PM) Okay, I will try it then. Currently my father are watching WC... cannot disturb him.... If you are sitting near the speaker, then you should use the sound delay. How about sound delay? which option should I choose? The purpose is to let the audio reaching to your listening position @ the same time. It depends on individual case, try to play around with it. |

QUOTE(whatsupbro @ Jun 17 2010, 09:58 AM) yup... same to me in my area... I wonder why people are not changing their astro to byond... I know they have some big big TV inside their houses... Actually those are smart in my opinion. I think that is probably why Astro are not very fast in adding new HD channels... cos not many people are subscribing to byond... Added on June 17, 2010, 12:46 pm QUOTE(whatsupbro @ Jun 17 2010, 12:20 PM) I have two cables conected from my byond box to my TV... one is an S-Video cable and the other one is the HDMI... to me.. not much different between the two... still crappy for SD channels... Byond got S-Video port ah?? maybe just a tat better.... not a big difference pon... haven't tried on component though and I bet it will remain the same... the only solution is for ASTRO to improve their SD PQ.. especially to us byonders...
