I applied for the PVR Byond on the 2nd of Jun and waited till today for the confirmation call. No one called, so I called the call center and told them I didn’t get the confirmation call from anyone. They transferred me to the people who does the confirmation call for the PVR Byond and they did the confirmation for me. They told me I would get a text message from Astro on details of the tech who is gonna come to my place and it would be fixed by 10 working days from today. Which means they would come to my place by Jun 18. I requested them to come over by Jun 10 and they said they will try but the high demand for PVR Byond might cause delay.

I got my b.yond PVR installed today at 9 am , the tech called at 8 am and asked if he could come over and i gladly asked him to come over . Took him over an hour to fix the decoder and the dish . He had to rewire again with 2 cables to the dish . The new decoder is bigger than the previous b.yond decoder . I tested the recording function by recording 2 channels at the same time , it works well , the decoder can record 290 hours of video . The tech that installed the decoder for me mentioned that they were given the decoders yesterday and he received 10 units . He installed 4 units on the same day and will be installing another 4 today .

I made it clear to them that i wanted it installed before the World Cup .

Hi , This is a just a short review . The PVR b.yond decoder is bigger than then normal b.yond decoder . It has a 500 GB hard drive and able to record up to 290 hours . I have tried recording some programs and it works well but i am not sure if there is a function that allows the recording to be done minus the commercials . Currently the few programs i recorded contains commercials which is rather annoying . The menu is rather simple , it can be accessed by the clicking on the home button .



We get the to choose the program we would like to record either by going to the TV guide or u can do at the channel bar . If u go to the the Planner section u would be able to view how much space is left in the hard drive , programs that you have booked , programs that you have recorded and all the tv series you have recorded .

The lock function allows you to lock the program you have downloaded , u need to enter the pin and it would lock the file and you wouldnt be able to delete the file unless you u know the pin .

Before this i was using b.yond , the tech who came replaced the dish and the cables as well . Now there is 2 cable from dish to the decoder . Anyway the new dish is the same size as the previous b.yond dish .

Yeap , my friend called yesterday and Astro CS gave the same answer . It seems the demand for b.yond is very high at the moment because of the World Cup

Yeap , thats right . I tried both option and it works superbly . Any idea how to record programs without the commercials ?

Yeah , been fast forwarding the commercial . Would be awesome if could record them without the commercials .

I guess they gave u the story that u have to wait for 10 working days from the day they confirm with u for the installation , they told me the same story but i kept calling them to get it installed before the World Cup and they did .
