QUOTE(writesimply @ Jul 7 2010, 12:20 PM) It does take coordination because the chain and Astro have to iron out deals; in return, Astro have to iron out deals with FIFA. So get it going quick and fast. Hopefully, Astro can provide a separate 3D 1080p25 feed to the cinemas. Astro does not have any rights to broadcast to a cinema. If this is to be shown in GSC then GSC have to get the rights and they have to organise how the feed is delivered to them.Once Astro and the chain have established this relationship, future LIVE broadcast of not only 3D sports but also concerts can be arranged. Well if you have a PS3, 3D games are already out. And 3D BDs are slowly coming; first title available is Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs. If you have the money, why not? fuad |

if you just turned on the decoder it can take several minutes to cache the first load of the EPG. It scans from channel 101 down from the first available time slot ie 101 - 1pm, 102 - 1pm 103 -1pm etc then it goes back to the top and scans the next time slot.

QUOTE(AjkR06 @ Jul 7 2010, 04:24 PM) Hi Talljustin, you can manually record anything by using the TV Guide to highlight a show. Series linking will be ready very soon. Can you guys from Byond software team, give back the function for manually record and set the own preferrable title for the program that i wanna to record, just like what MAX available some time ago... and series recording for PVR seems so "rubbish" (sorry if i use strange word here)... I tried to record from series linking, but it doesn't work at all Added on July 7, 2010, 5:50 pm QUOTE(writesimply @ Jul 7 2010, 04:47 PM) TJ, 2 audio issues. If the channel gives us stereo then we can't give you 5.1.1) We're still getting 2.0 audio from AXN HD and FX HD while the other channels are in true 5.1 2) The Astro world cup promos are too loud, louder than the other ads and the actual program content. fuad The Astro world cup promo is mixed in 5.1, I think you need to tweak your HT audio levels a bit. pulled down the surround channels a bit. It sounds fine and level with other promos on my system. I do notice jumps between studio and commercial breaks but not jumps inside the commercial break. QUOTE(jalsrix @ Jul 11 2010, 01:46 PM) Astro won't hire me because they already have people working there and I am sure their HR manager can't assess a person properly. (else why they hire people who can't perform ?) That's a bit harsh mate, I'd give you a job if you can do the task. You asked about series links and WHEN? Most channels should be operational by August. Some channels/programs are already working. Ep & series numbers will be coming too. We could manually write them into the synopses or choose the more commonsense and less time consuming method of mapping the data from the source files to the synopsis field. We have choosen the later approach but it does mean making sure that channels that have been delivering data for over 15years in a rather basic format need to change what they deliver to us and on our side we need to map fields correctly and interrogate the data accurately. Literally until 1 month ago we had no means of doing this until a new software solution was employed. For the first time in Astro's existence we have created a team dedicated to the EPG. I still have a vacancy so DM me if you honestly think you can become part of the solution. Cheers Justin |

QUOTE(mitodna @ Jul 12 2010, 10:29 AM) Not promoting leyley, I only leyley is selling 3D glasses Those glasses will not work on a 3DTV. is it 3D Glasses that compatible with Byond 3D http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1262759&hl= ? It is not about glasses being compatible with Astro B.yond it is about glasses being compatible with the 3D TV brand. You saw the screen shot above of what the broadcast looks like on a normal TV. it comes out as a left right split screen, no glasses no matter what you do will ever make that into a 3D image. It MUST be viewed on a 3D TV and with the right glasses that suit that TV brand. |

QUOTE(bugijun @ Jul 20 2010, 07:38 AM) Your hard drive is full and your PVR is set to "Auto" which will delete the first recorded programmes so to free up space for the latest recorded programmes."Lock" the show in the planner section to keep it and change your PVR settings (Home>Settings>Your Settings) to Warning or Manual. QUOTE(jalsrix @ Jul 21 2010, 02:01 PM) Anybody know how to cycle through the Favourites programs with the touch of a button for the new PVR ? Press OK so the banner displays then press Fav to cycle thru the channelsThere is no easy way now, the old Astro decoder is better in this function. Added on July 21, 2010, 8:46 pm QUOTE(tewwyble @ Jul 21 2010, 02:55 PM) Lately i am facing problems on my Byond PVR. 1)What channel did this happen on?1) Most of the recording schedules does not sync with the actual broadcast time. For example, when i choose to record a show schedule at 8:25-8:45pm, the recording ends midway. The actual content starts and end at 8:30 and end at 9pm instead where there is a 15minutes slack.I believe the schedules are not correctly sync in terms of time. 2) Please get rid of the stupid record link feature and bring back the old Max feature. I have 6 episodes of the same CSI in a week. When i record in HD, the Byond PVR also records in AXN SD. Every week i have to do housekeeping on the recording to delete duplicated series. 2)I've just series linked CSI on AXN HD and after cross checking with AXN's website the B.yond decoder correctly selected the 5 times in the next week that a new ep is broadcast and has not selected any repeat screenings. Perhaps the synopsis is misleading as it is still generic. We are working to get much more episode specific synopses. This post has been edited by TallJustin: Jul 21 2010, 08:46 PM |

QUOTE(bugijun @ Jul 21 2010, 11:43 PM) as stated, i still have 200++ hours left of hdd space, how can the hdd be full? unless the indicator is showing the wrong capacity of the hdd... Sorry Bugijun,, I miss read you, thought you said you had 200+ hours recorded! Ops,and not just me that have this prob, the deleted prog is not the last in my recorded list, and in some coincidence, the deleted prog is chuggigton from the cartoon network, just like Ramli... Did you ever watch the the show or was it a booking you made but have not yet had a chance to view it and then it disappeared? Added on July 22, 2010, 1:16 am QUOTE(tewwyble @ Jul 21 2010, 09:47 PM) 1) Channel 305 TVBC i believe is facing time sync. The start time for shows starts at 22:08-22:53 for The Judge Pao. All subsequent show times are not at 1/2 hour or 1 hour mark. E..g 23:38-00:03, 00:03-00:53, etc Thanks I'll check on Chairmen Pao2) I still don't understand how the series linked work. When i select to record CSI series link on 21 July, Wed @ 22:05, how does the PVR book this and subsequent series? Series links works by putting a unique ID against every episode of a series. If the decoder notices the same ID it knows it is the same episode and it will not record that unless the first attempt at recording failed. When series links was first released I was not able to get episode specific information from a lot of the channels and the result was the IDs where triggering records of repeats.that lasted 1week, Today if I can't get the specific info from the channel then we will not enable a series link for that show. This is why it is still not available on all series programs yet, where it is available it will record the new episodes only and not record the same episode over and over. Series link is a set and forget thing on B.yond. On max it did not exist at all. All you did was schedule a recording to happen at a time of you choosing. It was not linked to the Programme at all and essentially it was doing what a VHS recording would do, if you remember them? On B.yond if the show moves slot the series link will know and record the show from it's new time slot without you needing to worry. Added on July 22, 2010, 1:26 am QUOTE(Qash-M @ Jul 22 2010, 12:07 AM) Just fit to screen Discovery Btw you said earlier QUOTE will broadcast a 16:9 letterbox. That translates to a 16:9 show letterboxed for a 4:3 signal. There is no broadcast format that is both 16;9 and letterboxed This post has been edited by TallJustin: Jul 22 2010, 01:26 AM |
