We seriously don't need personal attacks here.So far the only Malaysian company that can/should compete with Astro is TM Net. Beyond Unifi, they can install FIOS; it's a substantial long-term investment but if they can do it, Astro would seem second rate. Once Astro's monopoly clause is over, TM can launch their own satellites to cover Sabah and Sarawak (limited FIOS access) and regional countries (satellite only). But this discussion is not this thread.

KUALA LUMPUR 24 Mac - Tujuh syarikat telah diberi lesen individu perkhidmatan aplikasi kandungan untuk tujuan menyediakan siaran sistem televisyen berbayar, selain Astro, sehingga Mac lepas, persidangan Dewan Rakyat diberitahu hari ini.
Timbalan Menteri Penerangan Komunikasi dan Kebudayaan, Datuk Joseph Salang berkata, namun begitu, sehingga kini belum banyak syarikat yang dapat menyediakan perkhidmatan tersebut menyebabkan rakyat Malaysia masih bergantung kepada perkhidmatan yang disediakan Astro.
Beliau berkata demikian ketika menjawab soalan Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said (BN-Pengerang) sama ada kerajaan akan membuka peluang agar lebih banyak pengendali siaran televisyen berbayar beroperasi di negara ini.
Mengenai siaran Astro yang tiada penapisan, Joseph berkata, oleh kerana siaran Astro dipancarkan melalui satelit, agak rumit untuk siaran tersebut ditapis sebagaimana siaran televisyen yang lain.

The problem is since March 2009, even though 7 companies have the license and Astro no longer have the monopoly, no one comes forward to save us from Astro's Monopoly. As this rate, I think the one who is second rate is the other 7 companies.
