QUOTE(writesimply @ Jun 3 2010, 12:47 PM) We seriously don't need personal attacks here. Fuad,So far the only Malaysian company that can/should compete with Astro is TM Net. Beyond Unifi, they can install FIOS; it's a substantial long-term investment but if they can do it, Astro would seem second rate. Once Astro's monopoly clause is over, TM can launch their own satellites to cover Sabah and Sarawak (limited FIOS access) and regional countries (satellite only). But this discussion is not this thread. fuad What monopoly clause are you talking about here? Here... - Bernama The problem is since March 2009, even though 7 companies have the license and Astro no longer have the monopoly, no one comes forward to save us from Astro's Monopoly. As this rate, I think the one who is second rate is the other 7 companies. Oh well this is not the place to discuss this anyway. |

QUOTE(eMKs @ Jun 3 2010, 03:18 PM) Seem like your HTiB doesn't have digital coax input, right? Not sure about that but based on teh Bernama article, apart from Astro, 7 others were given the license to provide pay tv services. However, non of them (except TM of course) have started operation. If so, you can't. DD 5.1 can only connect using HDMI or digital coax output from byond decoder Added on June 3, 2010, 3:21 pm What he meant is Astro exclusive right to broadcast using satellite until 20??, I forgot. Aside to Meon17, You can buy Coax to optical converter (if your AVR have optical input). It'll cost you around 200-400) |
