I bought a Philips 42' Full HD LCD TV PFL 3609s in August 2009 in PJ for RM 3040. Its current selling price is RM 2500. Can someone tell me what is the best 42 inch Full HD LCD TV currently on the market in terms of the following aspects:

1) price
2) visual clarity
3) audio clarity
4) contrast ratio
5) overall specs
6) Brand

Thanks

Am using AQUOS 42A77M, good quality, just that I think its response to channel changing is a bit slow, but in terms of PQ when watching BD, it's great. Audio-wise, i don't ask for much as it is just a TV.

Hi, I bought a Philips 42' Full HD LCD TV (PFL 3609s) last year for RM 2100. The picture qulity in the shop was great. But at home its has blurred somewhat. Its still clear but the figures are somewhat elongated. The people are a bit 'broader'. I checked with the shop and was told this is the effect of large screen tv's. But i didnt see this effect in the shop. I heard there is some cable that can be installed to provide sharper and more refined images minus the 'enlarged' effect.

Can someone clarify this and where to get this cable? I stay at TTDI, KL.

Can someone tell me the cheapest prices for the following TV models and which shop in Klang Valley is selling? The price in brackets are the cheapest that i know of:

Philips 42 PFL 3609s - RM 1700
LG 32LF20FR - RM 1600

Well, i don't know you try to spam this thread or what,
perhaps i am wrong.

At your very first thread, you say you bought a 3609s from RM2100 ( last year december i think. )

later on, at the 2nd thread, you say can get it for RM1700 ( for now )

Now, in this thread, you mention that the selling price is RM2500 ( so i assume you are very good relationship with the shop so they can discount up to RM800 to make it as RM1700 for the 3609s model for you. [it just 25%~30% discount not much smile.gif ] )

SO i am wondering, what is the message you want to bring it out?

Check my earlier response. I made an error. I got confused between the electrical products i purchased. Now i rechecked the original invoice with the shop. The Philips TV i bought was for RM3040. Its current selling price is RM2500. That's final. Sorry for the confusion.

really I must have missed that - As far as I can see you only mentioned the price of your current TV.

anyway, of course the price of your TV is now 2.5k there is a newer model out and the shop is trying to move the old stock.

for the same price in a new TV, what sort of improvements are you expecting?

To cybermaster,

Are you trying to sell off your TV? I suggest you just stick with it until its broken and buy a new one. Newer and better TV for LCD will only continue to improve as they still cant beat Plasma performance. The next biggest thing I'm waiting for is LED local dimming LCD, which still cost an arm and a leg.

Plasma already had the Pioneed Kuro which unfortunately is now discontinued.
