no man just ban matry, rpg, tube and p90 if people cant get over the fact that its not that op. and it will be good. its just sad to play cod with so much limitation no grenade cooking which imho is just like playing cs with a little more new stuff.

To luftwacko and Jas:

There's no point really arguing about which mod is pro or noob. The fact is, both mods force players to adopt different type of playing strategies.

To me, the whole concept of stock/modwarefare was to enhance a game in a way that limited certain OP aspects of the game, but still retained much of the "random factor" that made the game more fun to play. Yet in these mods you retain strategies that utilize your perks, firepower and movement.

While promod was created to help create more suitable environments for online play and almost totally blotch out the "random factor" that you experience in COD 4. In which case, it made the gameplay more dull and much more focused to firepower and movement of the game.

I'm hoping to provide for players of both preferences, and hopefully that way everyone will achieve a better understanding of both mods and their gameplay differences. There's no better mod, just how players adapt to gameplay.

It means when you 1 vs 5 then you kill all. When you go the bombsite with smile face smile.gif , suddenly you hear this sound 'click'. You should know what I mean by 'click' tongue.gif

Which is also why CS is a widely sponsored competitive game. All the limitations to the game is not to hinder people from having fun. It's to level the playing field and remove every known bug in stock. The graphics are hampered down for people to get 125fps which is the sweet spot for strafe jumping. Taking away nade cooking imo is a bit dumb too but with or without it people have found ways to get kills anyway (Throwing 90degrees into the air).

Competition is about how good you are at the game. Not how the perks help you to win.

In my most humble opinion, I won't join a stock competition cause I can just Frag x 3 and Uav Jammer / Ex Con all the way and be the most imba player on the planet.

Promod promotes skill; Which is what competitions are about.

If you want my strat for Mod Warfare, everyone just up deep impact and stopping power, reach their positions and prefire every corner, bang every wall till everyone is dead. Not to mention Fragx3 so we can clear out the entire building before going in.

Oh yeah, Promod doesn't have the sway bug either wink.gif

Obviously you've never taken the time to take a lot of things into account.

Now the reason for PROMOD is because everyone prefers to be able to sprint / prone / lean around walls which in my opinion is a BIG DIFFERENCE from CS. COD4 everyone runs at different speed. Strayfer is one fast as f*ck rusher because his strafe jumps and timing is ridiculous. Same goes for ex-JEDI Soldier. CS everyone runs at the same speed unless you can bunny hop (Which is also just a 2nd gear thing). COD4 is different from CS because you can prenade and scoping in COD4 is not as broken as CS. The fact you can aim-down sight promotes reflexes, situational thinking and forces you to aim more in my opinion.

In COD4 if you're an extremely good nader (Like, lets say... LighT or Xion or Agu or holy shit there are loads of them), you can time your nades perfectly over buildings and maps. Can you do that in CS? In de_inferno yeah, but not all the maps.

CS is more of an aiming, reflex game but COD4 is better in the sense that you have to account for a lot more things while playing.

Your mind numbing comments actually show you don't play this game enough. :/ Why not give promod a try, then go play CS straight way. If you still intend to think that the feel of promod is no different than CS then I suggest you go see a doctor.

Ever heard of the sway-bug? It's present in stock. :/ Your bullets don't hit on your crosshair sometimes because on the server it may be "swaying" differently from what you see on the screen. And sometimes when you hold breath it doesn't register on the server either.

IMO stick back to what TS asked. Don't give your opinion or whatsoever cause this issue had been discussed ages ago.

That so-called sway bug was patched by IW in v1.3 by forcing the shots to be registered from the client-side instead of server-side (since the sway pattern between the 2 sides are not synchronized). And yes, I still do notice the shitty hit reg sometimes, but it only happens to me when the latency gap between me and the player I'm shooting at is greater than 100+ ms.

EDIT:
And also, not that I do not agree with the removal of sway for competitive play, but the passive movement of the iron sights was essential to balance in stock CoD4 (Hey, AK/M4 swayed in stock cod4 for a reason you know...). When the devs of Promod removed the sway, they should re-balance (aka nerf) the AK/M4 so that they wouldn't make the other guns in the same category seem useless in the face of them. But hey, they didn't, and now everyone's whoring the AK-47 like how they whored the P90 in stock CoD4.

They don't call Promod the 4-gun-game for nothing. :V

Honestly speaking, you're right, variety is cut as the cost of having something that you could call 'standardization', I guess? The competitive side of CoD4 (I'm talking about where the big prize money and organizations are) has been around the same 5 maps out of CoD4's dozen stock maps, with an emphasis on a squad built around 1 bolt-action scope, 2 74u's and 2 47's.

I don't particularly agree with that, and I really think the MP5/M4 (At the very least, more variety on top of that = better) should have more usage as well, but that's just the way the top teams have been happy to strat the game around. It's more about strategizing around classes than guns.
