Your HTC Tattoo most probably is a SEA set and probably comes with SlideME instead of the regular Android Marketplace. To get the Android Marketplace you will have to root your device.

Normally when people mean "root" they mean installing a custom ROM, but true. Rooting gives you superuser access so you can flash a custom ROM.

There's a custom ROM Eclair for HTC Tattoo from XDA Developer..
But, camera is malfunction, messy live wallpaper and laggy everywhere because of unofficial stuff.
I tried it before but switch back to MoDaCo ROM..
Half a year already waiting for 2.1 update and now, Nexus One already with Froyo..
No luck for HTC Tattoo users which's including me... sad.gif sad.gif

First of all I don't think that the Pros and Cons for Android OS has anything to do with the Android Marketplace.

But I'm going to list them anyway.

Pros:
Open-Source
Android Marketplace (50,000+ apps)
Simple interface for daily basic tasks

Cons:
Rubbish battery life
Somewhat complex interface for more advanced tasks

I only know market enabler but never use market updater before.
I'll try it later.. But, I think maybe market updater is to check latest installed apps and games available..
And then straightaway can be updated there.. I think so.. hmm.gif hmm.gif
