It will be difficult (maybe impossible) to open ordinary-type bank accounts in the future, especially foreign bank accounts. KYC will get harder and harder. Even some banks in Malaysia, they also ask a lot of questions. If you really have no use of the account, then can close. But I think you might want to keep the POSB account in concurrent with your CIMB SG. You see, CIMB SG account is strictly an online account so it don't doesn't come with debit card, your POSB does. There are many benefits of having a debit card especially in case of emergency or registering for e-wallets and I don't think there is an annual fee for debit card? QUOTE(Toku @ Apr 21 2022, 04:08 PM) Thinking of consolidating accounts. I have both cimb sg and posb account. Which is better to keep? Any advantage from each account? In terms of remittance from malaysia to singapore and further to IBKR or TDA, which account is better?

QUOTE(sgh @ Apr 23 2022, 12:06 PM) https://www.maybank2u.com.sg/en/bank-charge...gs-account.pageAssume latest yes and minimum 500 and counter service for such acct super expensive! That is why most Msian prefer CIMB SG. But we have to be fair to Maybank SG they open so many branches in Spore need feed employee salaries operating cost etc compared to CIMB SG so few or only 2 branches? Read in Spore forum Maybank will close acct of customer who use their acct like business or cryto. Some reader carousel seller use Maybank acct for accept monies txn kena close acct appeal rejected. So careful Maybank checking quite strict probably the same case as well with CIMB SG?
