I've recently also compiled it into a detailed step-by-step blog post on opening CIMB SG account if you're interested. Thanks for the reminder! Cheers and will check out that blog |

Just wonder if it's normal for CIMB SG to take a while to revert the bank account opening application?
I already funded S$ 1,000 via transferwise and requested linkage from CIMB MY since Sunday (2 days ago) |

QUOTE(Solskjaer66 @ Nov 6 2020, 12:04 PM) i linked my CIMB SG and got it approved yesterday...... then i transfered SGD 1000 to CIMB SG..... i can see the SGD 1000 from the linked account...... can it be considered it as activated? or i need to wait for sms approval or email? i want to use it to fund my IBKR soon... 1. Good to know that your account is linked - you can see the SGD 1000.2. Link is not equal to activation. Don't forget to transfer at least SGD 1 to CIMB SG via local transfer. I personally transfer SGD 3. 3. Wait for CIMB SG to call you for verification, and if all good, they will tell you their management and processing team will take 1 day or so to get your account approved. 4. If step 3 fails and you are rejected, CIMB SG will refund your SGD 1000. They called me at 4pm for verification, and I got my CIMB SG approved by 7pm, same day. Cheers |

QUOTE(Solskjaer66 @ Nov 6 2020, 03:46 PM) Hi, i do not understand item number 2. i already transferred SGD 1000 from CIMB MY to CIMB SG. Then what is the purpose of transfering another SGD 1 to CIMB SG? i dont understand this part...... "via local transfer"?? use transferwise to transfer? if it means to use to CIMB MY to transfer SGD 1, i had already transferred SGD 1k...... i'm so confused about this SGD 1 thingy..... so sorry...please enlighten me... SGD 1 is for the verification purpose (must be done via CIMB MY platform, got Foreign Transfer and Transfer, choose "Transfer")SGD 1000 is the initial deposit required (can be done via transferwise to save for forex against using Foreign TT, any) p.s you can refer to @polarzbearz's blog (RinggitFreedom) above, her steps are more in-depth and will help you more This post has been edited by Ziet Inv: Nov 6 2020, 05:01 PM |

QUOTE(Solskjaer66 @ Nov 6 2020, 05:23 PM) yes i did refer to Polar's blog but i still didn't get the SGD 1 idea.... so mean i done it terbalik way already....... i transfered SGD 1k from CIMB MY to CIMB SG instead of using transferwise...... that's y i wonder why 2 days still didn't receive call to activate my CIMB SG account..... i will try to FTT SGD 1 to my CIMB SG now. Hmm by right no need FTT wor. From what you described, it should be just waiting for call after transfer 1k SGD (took me 3 days or so). Not sure about your situation, but let's see if anyone can shed some light on this. |
