For CIMB - I successfully registered. Managed to get a friend in SG to transfer 1K SGD to my account, so now on my end I just need to link it up with my Malaysian CIMB and send 1 SGD to my account right?
If they were to call me will the reason - invest in Singapore work? Did anyone try anyone use any other reason?
Thanks!

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Aug 9 2020, 12:03 AM) Yes you can ask your friend to send you the money. It won't be activated. After 30 days if you don't transfer in money from a bank under your name they will auto close account and refund your friend that SGD1k. There's a reason for asking you to use your own account to transfer money to active it. Is part of their KYC. Yep! So as I've read one of the threads - 1 SGD is acceptable as well right from my CIMB? I'm now pending the link approval from CIMB Clicks Malaysia.

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Aug 9 2020, 06:56 PM) Theoretically it's possible. It's a loophole. But what happen if they close it? Will see how. I've sent the money, pending the link now.

Got the call from CIMB SG. They were the ones who told me to transfer 1 SGD with my CIMB MY account after transferring the 1K SGD from a different account - so I guess that is fine wherever your 1K SGD comes from.
