I do find it odd that you have this 'additional' criteria at the premier wealth branches. Makes little sense to have 'different' policies.

And to have this stated on the official website without any uninformed additional criteria is just..

true. that's pretty odd to have different T&C of application. well, now i'm no longer sure cause anything might happen between last year an now. sweat.gif

Bro,... what I meant to say was... if you had gone in back 3 to 4 years ago,... or even 10 years ago,...you can go in directly to any branch in SG and open an account,..
*
ah 10 years ago it was that breeze... biggrin.gif

but true la. if compare now and then, differently it's harder to complete the application due to *sudden* T&C keep popping out each year. hmm.gif

Yeah,... same happening to me too,... in the documents sent to you, they asked fro your Tax Fine Number too, right ? Actually, we do not have to reveal this, especially if Msia has chosen not to sign anything with SG.

I am still wondering how does revealing our Tax File Number affect us ? LHDN does not tax on foreign investment income - this is for sure.

from maybank website on iSavvy SG acount:

Fees & charges

Minimum balance fee: S$2 per month if average daily balance falls below S$500
Over-the-counter cash deposit / funds transfer from another transactional account: S$5 (waived for first deposit on account opening)
Over-the-counter cash withdrawal / funds transfer to another account: S$15

Thats quite high fees no?
I can only do cash deposit in SG otherwise Im charged about rm17 each time I make any sort of deposit?
If Im in Malaysia and transfer funds to say my MYR Maybank account, its like about rm50 fees?
Am I reading this correct?
*
ahh no no no. based on my understanding:

if u do cash depo via deposit machine: $0 fee
if u do cash depo via counter: $5 fee
if u do cash/fund transfer via counter: $5 fee

if u do cash withdrawal via atm: $0 fee
if u do cash withdrawal via counter: $15 fee

basically the fee is because it involves manpower. the purpose of the fee is to encourage customers to use the machines or online to do transaction. to keep their cost low.

summary: just don't do anything over the counter lol. all via internet banking or atm/cdm.

i might be wrong. anyone can correct/vouch my understanding above?

You open before or I open before tongue.gif
I am writing this based on my experiences and my email to them. Read back the terms and condition.

To activate Cimb fast saver account, you need to perform a one time FAST transfer from a local SG bank account under your name. You can't do a TT or walk in for a FAST transfer.

what are the additional services allowed under approved Community Financial Services (CFS) ?
*
think is this.

Subject to approval from the Singapore High Court, Maybank said Maybank Singapore would transfer its community financial services business, namely the retail (personal banking, privilege wealth, premier wealth), private wealth, retail, small medium enterprises (RSME) banking and commercial banking business via a scheme of transfer to MSL with effect from Nov 5, 2018.

I've checked with Maybank iSavvy, CIMB FastSaver, all require proof of residence in SG and proof of work in SG.

Is there any way I can open a bank account in SG as a Malaysian working in Malaysia? If possible through online only but I'm willing to drop by Singapore once or twice if required.. I work near JB now.
*
yes you are able to open Maybank iSavvy account from Malaysia without going to SG nor have a proof of work.

Application is only by counter which requires a cheque draft of $500 for account opening. Should get everything in 2-3 weeks time.

What are the benefits u guys seek for from the maybank isavvy account?
*
primarily to access a more well diverse and choices in the singapore market. they offer alot more choices covering asia and europe + america. moreover, the opportunity to keep/earn in SGD is naturally a hedge against MYR. moreover, a better regulated financial system and authority.

oh my goodness, i got charged sgd2 for maybank isavvy for falling below sgd500 daily average per month although it really isn't my fault. it got approved on 28 november, however, by the time it's fully activated it's already like 21 december. subsequently i loaded in sgd500 and obviously the daily average will not be more than sgd500.

anbody managed to get waiver?
*
can email them about this as they are very efficient. but... dunno if they want to layan SGD2 fee. blush.gif do you have difficulty in topping up another SGD2?

anyone know how to activate Isavvy account?
*
the letter that you received (if application successful) should have the full instruction to activate the account. especially using the token.
