Oh you open OCBC SG 360 account directly from Malaysia? I remember our friend Mr. Gray says need to start with statement savings account (and open additional accounts like monthly savings or 360) then only close the statement saving account 6 months later.

Now can directly open SG 360 from Malaysia? Would help save the hassle of opening and closing multiple accounts then.

Yupe. After opened STS account, I then applied for 360. Approval is instantaneous.

Oh, so nothing change lah haha. I thought you open 360 right from the start laugh.gif

No big deal. Thanks for the clarification.

Indeed, that's the case with SG banks. Once you have an existing account with DBS, UOB or OCBC, you can open another one using the existing account as a "reference account" and get instant approval. That's how I open my DBS My Account as well, instant approval using my existing DBS Multiplier account as reference.

Hi, how to transfer money from singapore cimb bank account to Malaysia cimb? Is transfer directly using cimb portal the best way? For Wise, I don't think Wise will let us log in to Singapore bank to fund the transfer like FPX...

if i want a long term SG debit card, i'll
  • use Wise debit card, or
  • apply MBB ar-rihla to save on daily S$0.60 SMRT surcharge

Hi Sifus

Wish to ask for advice about first deposit of SGD $1000 to verify new OCBC Singapore bank account.

1) If we send SGD via WISE in a direct conversion, the sender name will likely be WISE or its partner. So understandably, the verification shall fail.

2) However, now WISE offers an SGD account. WISE confirmed that any outgoing payments from the WISE SGD account will have our own names as "Sender Name". If we send first deposit from the Wise SGD account to OCBC Singapore, will this be acceptable? Has anyone had any experiences?

Have personally tried to send SGD From WISE SGD account to a friend's HSBC account - the "Sender Name" is indeed the same as WISE account holder name.

Thank you

PseudomonasSA do you have Maybank MY account? you can send via Duitnow Overseas Transfer. have to do 2 transfers like Yluxion did as there's a RM3k daily limit. first you link your phone number to PayNow in OCBC app. can guarantee that it's also cheaper than Wise

then you follow this step to transfer from MBB MY via DuitNow Overseas Transfer

Thank you so much! Can I link MY number to Pay now? Because I don't have a SG number

I see. The debit card is only available for 360 account. Does the debit card have an annual fee?

For prior months can generate the proper Statement PDF with bank header, your name and address. For current ongoing month can only generate a barebones excel or pdf without the above.
