Thank you everyone for the inputs. Appreciate all of them.

My main purpose to ask whether to open a CIMB SG bank account is for me to transfer my money from CIMB MY. I am planning to transfer RM 1million in batches. I am looking for the best sales charges and best exchange rates.

I will not be transferring all at one time. Will be in batches in a year. Preparing my daughter education in Singapore.

Looking at the most convenient way and with the lowest charges.

Hah, you can easily already burn 500k only with PRIMARY and only with tuition fee. These "International Schools" are just big business, there owners are super rich for a good reason. And the million long time gone before going to University. In Malaysia!

the letter that you received (if application successful) should have the full instruction to activate the account. especially using the token.

Even if you have a UOB Singapore ATM card, you will still be charged for each cash withdrawal at any UOB Malaysia ATM. I am however not too sure what are the charges like though.

As for OCBC, if you have a OCBC/OCBC Al-Amin Malaysia ATM card, you will be charged RM2 each time you withdraw money at any OCBC Singapore/OCBC-NISP Indonesia ATM. Same goes to OCBC Singapore ATM/VISA debit cardholders. When they withdraw money at any OCBC/OCBC Al-Amin Malaysia ATM, they will be charged SGD2/withdrawal.

I am a UOB singapore atm card holder, yes they do charge a little if u apply in malaysia UOB atm for withdrawal up to 15SGD per transaction.

No minimum before subjected to fall below fees, however min average $1,000 to be eligible for interest. I've had few dollars lying around before
