some are common... some are different... local vs foreign, merchant vs wholesale... etc...

More advantage for local banks right?

Like services offered & branch / machine numbers / location.... Normally it's like this most places / countries....

I have CIMB MY account, I like CIMB MY more than maybank, so far so good for me
*
Hmm..

CIMB better than Maybank?

So far...
For me...
I feel CIMB have more issues either offline or slow service compared with Maybank 🤔🧐

For me, I use CIMB more than 5 years already, I never got any issue or problem with CIMB

Then Maybank very difficult to use, sometime you use Maybank debit card withdrawal from MEPS ATM can, sometimes cannot then MEPS ATM will show system error. (I lazy drive to Maybank ATM)
Another example, sometimes you need do some setting on your Maybank online banking but you cannot do it because not the business hours, if you do at weekend also cannot (speechless), online banking will show system error masssage, CIMB never like this.
*
Good for you then 👍

Unlucky for me.... Probably 🤔🧐
Using for past 20 years... Earlier days okay.. past few years not good... Maybank also have issues but not serious like CIMB.....

Even DBS was down a few months back as the largest bank in Singapore  🤦‍♀️ and most of the time when this happens it is usually in Monday and Friday morning the past few incidents

Malaysia banks "sickness" have infected Singaporean banks too....

System down @ offline 😁

DBS is the biggest bank in Singapore & one of the Asia's biggest too...

Yet always got issues with their services...

This makes some of the Malaysia banks looks better... Heck others smaller Singaporean banks the better choice to have account 🙏

A question for the experts. When  you transfer larger amount of money from RM to USD/SGD, do you transfer RM30k per transaction  or lesser amount? Currently, I am transferring RM10k/transaction instead of RM30k. Downside is you incur more cost. Is there more scrutiny/risk if transfer RM30k at a time?

Big amount normally just ask source of income $$$...

U got nothing to hide why worries

Just give your local bank statement & salaries slip...

They just want some paper trail....

Ever since Sunway Money got that additional fee...
Their rates not so good anymore...

Looks like DuitNow is another good alternative....
Cannot transfer big, but smaller amount...

It's okay.
Slow & steady 💪

Thanks. I reregistered my phone in MBB SG but didn't link to paynet. After linking it works now. Don't seem to need to link SG to MY account though.

DuitNow to SG in SGD is a 3.506 rate huh...

OTW route to 4.00 😏

Tried transferring from CIMB SG to CIMB MY a moment ago. Mid-market rate is 3.49, my 100 SGD becomes 348.37 MYR in CIMB MY (rate given 3.4837).

So that's about an 18 basis points spread.
*
Huh?

Not 3.43 anymore 🤔🧐

seems like maybank sg not very email friendly. refuse to entertain banking matters via email. calling them would be expensive. so i asked them to call me, wonder if they will.

Banks always like this...

But when it's involved CC or something they needed (especially money related)... Very fast they communicate with you
