HSBC bank account cannot link to any POEMS.He wants POEMS as well And he mentioned the non PB way.

I can’t find the post by oldman1920 saying he wants to open a SG account not via premier/priority/private banking wah or that he wants to link to POEMS. Besides, he had mentioned he is currently a HSBC MY Premier client.

Eh I thought you referring to w3sley. Not oldman1920.

Not sure where you get that idea as it was very clear that I was replying directly to oldman1920 in my post posted at 3.28pm today with his post quoted and all.

I didn't bother replying to oldman1920 as the date was August.

You had replied him early on but it didn’t really answer his questions. I just saw his questions and I happen to know the answers to his questions such as fall below fee and so on. So I chipped in.

How did you request for the cimb Sg atm card? I got mine security device after few weeks and didn’t receive the atm card.

Any charges for the atm card?

There is a one-time issuance fee of SGD10.

CIMB Bank Singapore is not a part of ATM5 network. So for fee-free ATM cash withdrawal, you must do it at CIMB Bank own ATM. The most convenient branch would definitely be the one at Orchard Road located above Abercrombie & Fitch.

Standard Chartered Singapore still welcome Malaysian to start a banking relationship with them. It is just that they are more keen on selling Priority Banking and Priority Private Banking membership to non-Singaporean or anyone who aren’t Singapore resident or do not work in Singapore and this isn’t unique to Malaysian only.

Citibank IPB Singapore previously offered banking services to anyone except US nationals as long as you can fund the account and maintain USD10,000. However Citibank IPB Singapore no longer offers such account since year 2017 or so. You must at least join Citibank IPB Singapore Citigold if you want to bank with Citibank Singapore if you’re a foreigner who doesn’t stay or work in Singapore.

I went called both Malaysian and CIMB hotline to try to open SG bank acc and they told me only able to open a bank acc if I go to SG physically.

Is there other way where I can do it online?
*
Spend some time and read earlier posts. The answer is there. And no. Almost all of us opened our account online. The CS you dealt with had no idea what they were talking about.

Hi all, recently just opened a singapore CIMB fastsaver account and it took me less than a week to get it fully activated, so I decided to write a guide here for all the new people. It took me a total 4 days to fully activate the account.

Day 1
1. You must have a cimb malaysia account first.
2. Head to singapore cimb fastsaver page and fill up the registration form
3. After filling up the form, you will get an email and sms instantly. (you will get your fastsaver account number)
4. login to your cimbclick malaysia. Go setting and link your cimb malaysia to the cimb singapore.

Day 2
1. Successfully linked my cimb malaysia to cimb singapore account
2. transfer 1sgd from the cimb malaysia to your fastsaver for KYC process
3. Ask my friend from singapore to transfer 1000sgd to my fastsaver account (Save money without using cimb forex rate because the spread is too high) (and my friend wanted to transfer sgd to myr, so we do it without crossing the border)
4. lazy to wait for the call from cimb singapore, so i head to their website and filled up the enquiry form asking general questions and what to do for next steps. (obviously im just fishing for them to call me asap)

day 3
1. cimb singapore called me for verification process. reason i say i want to invest in singapore.
2. they say ok, will pass the application to another department and i am subject to their approval.

day 4.
1. finally received email and sms for my account activation.
2. you will get a code to sign up for cimb click singapore
3. go sign up for singapore cimblcick and done.

The process is very smooth. And it only takes 4 days from application. They dont even ask for my net worth etc. I am unemployed lol.

Very informative post. Can add this to the 1st post. Welcome anyone to do the same for Maybank SG.

Can if you have big money. Rm250k and agd250k to park on SGD side.
Valid only for standard chartered.
HSBC need rm250k park under them.

It is RM200,000 with HSBC. For Standard Chartered Singapore, it is $200,000. Standard Chartered Hong Kong is $1,000,000.

It however DOES NOT guarantee you successful account opening in your host country if you were to go via the HSBC Premier route.

hi , do you happen to know if HSBC premier in SG, has foreign cash withdrawal function?
example, i have a EUR account with HSBC, and i want to withdraw EURO in cash at Singapore HSBC branch.
in MY, we can not.

Thanks.
*
It's doable with HSBC Premier (HK), HSBC Jade (HK) and HSBC Private Banking (HK) and it is free of charge. You can order the foreign currency online via their online banking portal and they shall have it ready at your preferred branch.

hi..does anyone have info on HSBC singapore will allow withdrawal of cash in foreign acocunt? Example: withdraw USD from the USD account. no conversion of any currency,
*
It's possible but there is a handling fee of 1.5%. This fee applies to cash deposit as well as cash withdrawal in any currency other than Singapore Dollar.

There are however, ways of getting around it. Like when you withdraw from HSBC UK ATM in either Pound Sterling or Euro from your Everyday Global Account. And cash withdrawal at HSBC Group ATM worldwide is free of charge for all HSBC Premier/Jade/Private Banking clients.

Another way is to withdraw the foreign currency at HSBC Hong Kong. For this you must also be a HSBC Hong Kong client.

Thank for the input.

Just to clarify, i have a china hsbc premier debit card, and my account has EUR account.
If I am in Germany for instance, I find a hsbc atm and put my china hsbc debit card, i can withdraw my EUR in cash from my EUR account without fees, is this what you mean?

In china, i can withdraw EUR over the counter without any fee in cash. Which is very nice.
It appears not many countries can do this, even if you hold the origin country premier account.
*
Yes. Provided your debit card allows you to debit from your EUR account.

If parking RM250k in Malaysia to open priority in sg, I think only HSBC allow you to do that.

It is RM300,000 to qualify for HSBC Premier Banking in Malaysia now. For HSBC Premier Elite, the minimum TRB is RM3 million.

I won't bother with priority banking.

The only priority banking I want is with DBS. But if no priority it's ok. Won't die.

Purpose of the post was to correct the wrong info given in your original post - 300k instead of 250k. And it was still 200k only just a few months ago.
