See the min amount needed to get 1.3% doh.gif doh.gif
SGD50k vs Cimb fastsaver of only SGD1k

Besides it's a time limited promo vs permanent feature of Cimb fastsaver.

You are correct,
Maybank iSavvy 1.30% need min SGD50k.
If not is 0% interest, still CIMB FastSaver saving account is the highest 1% for min 1k.

You do not open SG account for their FD doh.gif doh.gif That's the worse way to make your money work for you.

Just convert RM > USD. You do know there are multi currency account in SG which can hold USD right? The RM is strong. Use this current opportunity.

Rather than trying your luck with SG FDs, you are better off with SSB. Higher 1 year rate study vs FDs. Flexible to withdraw anytime.

Use SGD to invest in dividend stocks, get dividends, pump back in, increase your dividend payout

RM is strong now, not a good time to change RM > USD.

In order to have SSB, I need to have OCBC, UOB, DBS/POSB bank. Malaysian not working Spore can only have Maybank, CIMB spore.

RM is strong means you get more USD/RM = cheaper.
If you convert when RM is weak, doh.gif doh.gif

Wrong. Me and few people here have prove that even if we are not working or have anything in SG, you still can open account.

If you want high interest account, this might interest you.
https://heartlandboy.com/citi-maxigain-savings-account/

2 catch
1) you need to be there in person to open
2) subject to whether Citibank approval in opening account.

I wrote a detail step by step on how to open a DBS account before. From your reply, looks like you didn't read through the whole thread. If you don't want to take time and read, then I can't help you.

DBS, OCBC, UOB, you need to be there. Maybank is for those don't want to be there. Cimb is for those already have a SG bank account in the first place.

I recently open bank with DBS/POSB. Took me less than 10 minutes. I don't even stay / work there. My main purpose is for online transactions only because I do not trust Maybank (yet) ^^;

I tried another bank, they say I have to work/resides in Singapore to be eligible. The bank is red in color, can't remember much.

Yes. But you can open without one if you can give them proof why you don't have one

Thanks. I notice they also need proof of address. Is malaysian IC enough? I don't have any bills showing my address. Living with parents. Can I give my parents bill?

Alternatively how can I can a document/bill quickly in the next few days to state my parents address?

Give your IC or bank statement. Both must match. If don't match then can help you.
