Yeah, feel like I should at least transfer some as well. Gotta check if it's worthwhile because I'm not sure if banks charge favourable exchange rate for that. Anyone with relevant experience they can share?

Cheaper exchange rates than what banks give.Anyone with relevant experience they can share? You pay more if you go via banks This post has been edited by Ramjade: Feb 10 2018, 02:45 PM |

QUOTE(coolguy99 @ Feb 10 2018, 02:10 PM) Yeah, I do have. But if not mistaken, I can't send RM to them and have them bank in SGD for me as well because my bank, OCBC is very strict in me transferring money from Malaysia to any account in SGD, vice versa Is this the case with other banks or it's only OCBC? QUOTE(AdrianYap13 @ Dec 20 2017, 03:27 PM) Hi guys, this thread was brought to my attention by a friend of mine. deletedI am the CEO of MoneyMatch and I just wanted to inform you guys on how the banks make money on transfers. It is a composition of FEE + FX Spread. Most of the time the FEE is negligible to the bank and they make the most money on the FX Spread as it is reflected as a percentage on notional ie 1% or 2% on total amount. Just wanted to let you guys know that even if its ZERO FEES, watch for the FX Spread. A good indication would be to benchmark it against XE or GOOGLE. Not going to push my agenda here, just pure education. This post has been edited by prince_mk: Feb 10 2018, 07:27 PM |

QUOTE(prince_mk @ Feb 10 2018, 06:39 PM) Open account with them already. Going to use once can get SGD10k. No money for SGD10k. Showtime have use. And he gave positive review for it. When you aren't got time to go down SG, you need another way to transfer money. And going by banks is definitely out of the question for me. As long approved by BNM, got good reviews from their customers I am perfectly fine with it. Most important is approved and licensed by BNM. Sometimes it's better supporting this kind of companies than enriching bank shareholders. Support small upcoming companies than big fat companies who charge you markup ratesas for me, I will go down once in 6 mths. just go for a window shopping as well. |

From time to time they will need to exchange some ringgit to pay off bills, loans etc, that is how i got my SGD. |

Hi guys,
I called maybank malaysia and they told me the iSavvy is no longer available, so if I were to go to SG as a tourist, can I still open a maybank account there and link it with my maybank malaysia account? |
