All, Was flipping though a Brit audio magazines, amazed by an article that I read, it prompted me to do some research and post this topic. There was an article about a CD player shootout and Shanling MC-30 came out tops among household brand names! Check this out: Despite the bad rap of 'Made in China' products, it good to see that they are making headlines in the Global arena and slowly breaking out of the cheap junk stigma. See below the glowing reviews and awards of Shanling products: http://www.realhi-fi.com/reviews.htmlhttp://www.charismaaudio.com/reviews_SL.htmlAlready a lot of lesser known China made products are making advances. I foresee in less than a decade it may take over the likes of Sony, Samsung Remember...... Japanese products were once perceived as junk too

QUOTE(anchovies93 @ May 30 2010, 09:01 PM) No idea, bro...but I think they ought to be reasonably priced compared to the branded ones. Besides, they seem to share the same components like Krell

I kinda like the look of the very highly regarded (and well reviewed) SCD-T200 I think they are pretty daring design-wise... how about the UFO, er... SCD-T300? Around 2005, MusicHall imported the Shanling CDS100 into US labeled it the Music Hall CD25 and sold it for US$600; some years later AV123 imported the same player, named it the Onix XCD 88 and sold it for US$300. It can be had for US$208 from Cattylink, or about RM500 ... in Shenzhen

With a sea of products out there mimicking one another, the ability to differentiate oneself from the rest of the pack is certainly a BIG plus!

Glad another china brand making waves, only other sound system I trust in china is Edifier PC speakers. Altec Lansing can continue to go down the drain with their cheapo methods.

actually most chinese companies have been OEM for big brands - Jungson is one that does for mark levinson just that now with the internet and raise of CHINA.
These OEMs are coming out of their own to market their own brand.

Shanling CD players are NOT cheap. They are priced to their quality & reputation<--which is pretty well regarded by many audiophiles.
