hey guys, instead of paying for real sms gateway during development,
Is is possible to use mobile emulators to send SMS to service running on localhost?

How does the sms gateway work? Just get an API from them and program to that.
BTW: I'm using just gnokii connecting to a couple of gsm modems. Much cheaper per message. It's low volume though. We're only sending about 2-3000 sms per day. |

hey dkk, does gnokii works on windows 7?
I checked GSM modem, they're quite expensive. Because I just want to development and test the app in local computer. This post has been edited by kenyi: May 30 2010, 08:24 PM |

Win7, yes. For development, just use your handphone. Connect the cable to your computer. The main point of something like gnokii is to make it easy to swap in a different phone/modem without changing your code.

looks like it can't open COM8.
try Device Manager-Modem-Diags-Query Modem if ok, you can use Putty + Tutorial: Sending SMS This post has been edited by cherasbabe: Jun 1 2010, 09:40 PM |

Checked the control panel, found that it is COM9.
--identify command works now, but SMS does not. Below is the result from Query Modem. CODE ATQ0V1E0 Success AT+GMM KP500 AT+FCLASS=? COMMAND NOT SUPPORTED AT#CLS=? UNKNOWN COMMAND AT+GCI?
