Just asking in terms of mechanics... I'm a MH3 player using Hammer.
I started playing MHFU 3 days ago, using Hammer as well. Currently at 2* farming Kut Kut and Congalala... I notice I kill them too fast before I actually break their parts. Kut Kut ears aren't a problem - sonic bomb and he does drop them as a shiny. But for Congolala, I can stun him but I kill him before breaking his horn for the pelt drop. Any advise? |

QUOTE(gaiachronicler @ Jun 17 2010, 02:11 PM) this happens when weapon overpowered monster Thanks Gaia, well in MH3 its a little different... even with a overpowered weapon, I can break the parts before they dietry bringing lower raw with quite the decent elemental. should be able to break. i tend to notice hammer can deal alot of damage. too much, i think... e.g. Jaggi & Peco I'll try again with a weaker hammer and see. Thanks! |

I'm currently at 3* village elder quests and finished Offline Training Hall 1*.
Taking my time by farming/grinding/learning each and every weapon! |

Hmmm, Daimyo Hermitaur.
He has some attacks you need to look out for as he's the most mobile monster - can move in all 4 directions without turning LOL. His attacks has a certain range before he unleashes it. Use that to counter - except his back attack. That one goes all the way. Aim for his legs, keep hitting it and he will stumble allowing you to attack him freely. When he does his "Guard" move, you can punish him with a Sonic Bomb. I've beaten him with Hammer, Bow and LBG. I have done up to Village Elder 3* quests - farming my new armor before taking on my Urgent. I have done Offline Guild Hall 1* quests. I dont notice any difference in terms of monster's HP except you get more items to use at your disposal. This post has been edited by gaeryn: Jun 22 2010, 11:56 AM |

QUOTE(gaiachronicler @ Jun 22 2010, 12:38 PM) for this game u gotta learn patience 1st. when you observe the monster attack pattern a lot, then u can start going back into anger management class mode. start spamming dmg to it I agree no love for LS? everytime daimyo turns, means you can start to evade under his legs to move to his back or sides keep close to it unless it jump using dragoon " Jump" ability Only monster that tests my patience is Pesioth so far |

QUOTE(althosmk @ Jun 23 2010, 01:47 PM) Fought YKK. Now pwning him like crazy. Only trouble I have is breaking his ears. Need 2 of those to complete my Kut Ku armor. You can also throw a sonic bomb or barrel bombs to force him to drop his shiny. Sometimes he drops a ear.I see parts of his ears break but nothing dropped. Do I have the break the whole thing only can I get the drop? QUOTE(althosmk @ Jun 23 2010, 02:17 PM) Yea i got my comrade throwing bombs like crazy and it constantly drop a shiny...but like the stats say, kut-u ears is 10% chance and I'm always unlucky lol. I guess its easier for me to see the break because my PSP is connected to a LCD TV.But I want to know whats the indicator of a break? Kut-Ku ears are like a opened paper fan (ie, Shell logo as example), when its broken it looks like a torn paper fan. http://monsterhunter.wikia.com/wiki/Yian_Kut-Ku This post has been edited by gaeryn: Jun 23 2010, 03:02 PM |
