Since the iPad population in Malaysia has grown to such sizable numbers, and more queries have been posted in the iPad Discussion Thread, now on Version 2, I'd figure it is a good to gauge interest, and see if an iPad Gathering is a good idea. This will help current owners and potential buyers to mingle with each other and get ideas on how to accessorize, discuss live with each other about app recommendations as well as live demos, and gather tips and information among each other to improve each other's experience on using the iPad.

As with the previous iPhone TT gatherings that had been organized before, open suggestions on where the Gathering is to be held, and when, are welcomed. The whole objective of this is to make sure everyone can get to the venue easier and at a time convenient, if not to everyone's convenience, to the majority's at least.

My suggestion would be:-



The venue is to allow options for iPad owners in the in PJ, DU and other surrounding areas to be able to come as well as options for folks like me who lives in Ampang. Of course, the timing is because it's a weekday, so it should be only after the office hours. Also, all this is up to the general consensus here to decide, and suggest, if there are better places/venues and/or date/time to have this Gathering. The suggestion made above was just to start the ball rolling.

I leave it the rest of you guys to decide if this is an interesting proposition to you, and to see if there is interest in such a congregation.

Please feel free to suggest other options you feel more appropriate. Like the venues where Apple-related courses are held by Premium Resellers like Machines or EpiCentre, but that will require their prior consent.

Count me in. But I suggest you consider the timing. It is a weekday and 6pm at that area is going to be a mad place for those driving. If it rains, it will be even worst How do I walk from the nearest LRT to gardens. Do I have to walk through the forest?

What timing is ideal to you? It's suggested as 6pm onwards, which could be 8pm and beyond. It's just a lepak session with your fellow owners and get to know each other and what they do with their iPads. It'll not be a "must-be-punctual" kinda thing, but if the rest of the folks left by then, I can't stop them though.

Another thing that I thought would be brilliant is multiplayer gaming session! I'll bring my MiFi, set it as a dummy SSID where everyone can log into, and voila! Instant wireless hotspot! Scrabble 4-player, snooker multiplayer, Real Racing HD multiplayer!

Real racing HD would be awesome on multiplayer. Never got a chance to try it coz no ipad owners around me... Haha... Will bring my D Link mifi as well.

Since it is not be a punctual session then I guess 6pm is alright I am coming by LRT. But the problem is walking from the nearest LRT to gardens. How do I walk there

If the rest of the folks accepts this venue, I too will be coming using public transport. It's not serviced by LRT, you need to take the Komuter from KL Sentral to Midvalley, walk into Midvalley and head to the the walkway joining Midvalley and The Gardens. Signboards for this are everywhere.

I may have things for sale at the Gathering itself. Thinking of letting go of a couple of Apple iPad Cases, and the iPad Keyboard Dock. They're brand new by the way, never opened. Of course others can also use this opportunity to show their accessories, or let go of their iPad accessory duplicates as well. Also a good time to get ideas on how to carry your iPad around, I'll gladly demonstrate how the Waterfield Muzetto is a perfect fit for the iPad. Also will be available there is the Element Case Joule iPad Stand, i'll bring it together with me. And if Beavis68's order comes on time, you'll get to see the anodized silver aluminium version of the Joule Stand as well, which is different from my shiny silver Joule. I'm jealous of his anodized Joule actually.

Eh, if you guys got anything nice to share and show, bring it along lah. Doesn't mean that this is an iPad Gathering that you wouldn't share any other things Apple-related. Hanzx can probably promote the Foofbag for iPad too.
