Any other 4mbps users getting really bad connection for the past few days?
For a few months now I've been having pretty smooth 4mbps download speed. Now I am having packet loss all over the place and can barely get my email to load. The problem seems to start quite close to me (as opposed to being with the international link). Usually when I ping the gateway it's 18ms every time. Now it looks like this - absolute crap: CODE % ping 219.93.218.177 PING 219.93.218.177 (219.93.218.177): 56 data bytes 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=0 ttl=126 time=182.453 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=1 ttl=126 time=103.560 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=2 ttl=126 time=117.187 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=3 ttl=126 time=213.327 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=4 ttl=126 time=73.566 ms Request timeout for icmp_seq 5 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=6 ttl=126 time=60.069 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=7 ttl=126 time=66.728 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=8 ttl=126 time=54.265 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=9 ttl=126 time=70.982 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=10 ttl=126 time=42.102 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=11 ttl=126 time=39.180 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=12 ttl=126 time=215.595 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=13 ttl=126 time=61.578 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=14 ttl=126 time=113.119 ms Request timeout for icmp_seq 15 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=16 ttl=126 time=86.867 ms 64 bytes from 219.93.218.177: icmp_seq=17 ttl=126 time=52.505 ms ^C --- 219.93.218.177 ping statistics --- 18 packets transmitted, 16 packets received, 11.1% packet loss round-trip min/avg/max/stddev = 39.180/97.068/215.595/56.256 ms My modem stats are fine and the same as ever. |

QUOTE(leyley @ Oct 1 2010, 01:18 PM) You mean both a modem and a router? I do not believe there is a single good one on the market. Use the cheap modem that TM gives you, in bridge mode. And then get a good router (or install good firmware on a router). |

QUOTE(Baozzz @ Mar 7 2011, 01:38 PM) my company just start to use streamyx OIAB 4MB recently. the problem im encountered is the upload speed i got is very bad. in my modem configuration i can see my upload speed is 500+ kbps but when i run speedtest i get 0.01mbps and sometime is prompt an error "upload test error". Step 1 would be to connect without the firewall to see whether or not that's causing the problem.FYI, my modem (d-link 2640B) is running behind a firewall. i got no problem with my 1MB streamyx enterprise previously (also using d-link modem). anyone has any idea how to solve this problem? |
