I wonder if the Natsys has an extra PCI-e slot to take the HD accelerator like the HP Mini 210
Pity neither has HDMI port.

how come ppl don't want to read the FAQ for this package, already mentioned that phone rental will be included.

http://www.tm.com.my/about-tm/PromotionsNH...book-%20FAQ.pdf

sewa bulan bagi perkhidmatan talian tetap TM akan dikecualikan daripada bil tetap TM pelanggan yang bertarikh seterusnya dalam tempoh mase 30 hari.................

read clause 15
*
Apparently the people at TM Point don't read it either.

QUOTE(pitywoman @ Jun 6 2010, 11:08 AM)
i went there juz asked. according the staff. not all can apply. after u apply u need go through some procedure. like d kebajikan officer will come investigate u qualify for this package etc....
*
More work for the Kebajikan dept.
I guess we need to get our tax monies worth from these people.
Or will TM be paying them for this "service"?

Simpler to just give everybody the package and be done with.

TM has really crappy sales and marketing department.
Boss launches new product but sales staff never even hear of it.

It's as if they lived back in the East India Trading Co. times when bosses at London HQ makes decision and it takes months for news to trickle down to their trading posts at Goa, Penang, Hong Kong.

There is more hearsay and rumours at their service centres than here at Lowyat forums.

Atom N450 1.66GHz
1GB RAM
160GB (Natsys) or 250GB(HP)
10.1" screen
Webcam/LAN/B/Wifi/VGA
Windows 7 Starter

They are both practically identical except for the hdd.\
I think the HP has Bluetooth too.

So far we have verification by:-

1. Check property value
2. Check payslip.
3. Checks by social welfare officers.
4. Limited by location.
5. No need checks
6. Household survey

Did I leave any out?

Has anyone been asked for blood tests yet? tongue.gif

OK. Here's the deal for Seremban
They said to register interest for 1Malaysia service (in a nice big ledger type book) then they will send someone over to your house to survey household. doh.gif

Already a lot of names there.

i really can't believe this household survey thing.. how much $$ TM is going to waste by hiring ppl to do the survey rather than keeping those $$ to rebate or have cheaper package for their customers?!?!
*
My thoughts exactly.
But probably in the end when faced with the enormity of running this household survey thing they'll simply give up and just go with something simpler like payslip checks instead.

TM is kind of like our civil service.
Every office has their own interpretation of the directives received.
Every office has their own methods of implementation.
Every office is mired in bureaucracy.

Anyways, for 1Malaysia notebook, we all know the specs but anybody know how it looks like? If it's ugly, I might go for HP.

It's probably this one:
www.natsys.com.my

But I think HP will be more robust.

QUOTE(Nightengale @ Jun 9 2010, 05:53 PM)
Malacca here, already applied for this package. I chose the Komputer 1Malaysia 1mbps package.

I'm worried about NatSys's netbook, but it's just a netbook, so it can't be all that different from others. It may not be EeePC or ThinkPad quality, but it should meet the average standard.

Unfortunately, Natsys policy said they can't reveal who are the OEM for their product parts. The pictures make it look like some of it come from Gateway, but I suppose I'll see in a week or 2's time.

Keep us posted

Melaka Raya.

If I don't get the netbook, I can change to the HP one-lah. If HP also out of stock... then it's a damn pity because get nothing free, but paying RM68 a month for 1mbps is still better than my currrent package paying a total of RM100+.

No netbook still can save RM30+ every month.  thumbup.gif
*
Since the new package is suppose to include netbooks, that means they can't sign you up if there are no more netbooks.

Wah! Got forms already?
All I managed to do is register my interest in a ledger type book.
Give name, address, phone number...
Six day now still no response from Streamyx.

What did they ask in application form?
Can you attach copy of blank application form for the rest of us to see?

I wonder if I can print tsmin1989's attached application form (see above) to apply at my local TM Point since they don't have any available.

Or can I simply apply in another town?

the 1Malaysia notebook is under the brand "MIMOS", something like that, local brand, not HP. Both is said to have same spec, just that HP has a known brandname.
*
I hope it's not the Mimos MaKcik PC. Yuck! (I can't find any emoticon for throwing up)
Anyone see that model?
Mimos ain't no Apple that's for sure. tongue.gif
Makcik PC website
Try to play the Youtube video and you get a "removed due to terms of use violation" message.
That's because it's too ugly!

Nice! TM Point calls 100 for confirmation, 100 says ask TM Point for confirmation. doh.gif

Anyone read this on The Star?

Cheaper internet fees?

Our Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim finally wakes up to the truth about our ISP pricing.

So, big question.
Subscribe 1Malaysia now or wait for possible price cuts?

384 kbps.. shouldn't be in the package..
*
Shouldn't even be called broadband.
The US FCC as of 2009 defines broadband as no less than 756kbps which is considered the LOW END of BASIC BROADBAND (<1.5mbps)
