QUOTE(broga_night @ Jun 17 2010, 11:44 AM) hi bro...hav some question here... is tat posible to upgrade my m11x core2duo processor to the new i7 Dell rep answer to me a few weeks ago: Its possible, but you need to change the entire motherboard. And the cost of motherboard is too pricey its not worth it.

QUOTE(putochip123 @ Jun 18 2010, 02:19 AM) well, is just compring whitin laptop.... well, we need portable, desktop cant even portable at all people say M11x is portable which give u 11", but just think, 11" have 2KG weight is vry heavy, for a normal like N82JV which have 2.5kg only, nothing much different, the only different is the battery life Depends on people I guess. 14" is not portable enough for me, since its too big for me to carry comfortably around using a motorcycle, and I'm kinda skinny, so a bigger-sized laptop will be hard to carry around. QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Jun 22 2010, 05:06 PM) saw my classmate m11x .look cool and portable @@'' poison poison. is it the i3 + gt335 enough for current games ? or normal daily usage? Depends on the game. It runs The Sims 3 + Expansions & Oblivion on a high setting pretty well. Those 2 are the games I constantly play anyway.

QUOTE(fcuk90 @ Jun 22 2010, 05:14 PM) how about multi tasking with i3 ? will it lag? or causes lower performance ? since its only have 1.3ghz and turboboost until 1.7ghz The ones I'm talking about earlier was with the C2D, which over clocked to 1.6. Im still yet to receive my new M11X. It should be within this week or early next week.

QUOTE(Eugene91 @ Jun 23 2010, 09:44 AM) Hey guys see this M11x R2 Core i7-640UM OCed with Turbo Boost and Without for GTA4 Benchmark http://forum.notebookreview.com/alienware-...-may-think.htmlUnbelievable without Turbo boost its like 2 times for FPS gain! So i guess buying the M11x with Core i3-330UM and OC it is as good as the Core i7-640UM(Turbo Boost Turned Off) From the thread this theory only applies to GTA4. Most of them agrees that Turbo Boost On is the way to go for most games, but people should really turn it off once in a while when playing games just to know for sure. I think the theory is just that some games works great on dynamic core, some on static.

QUOTE(Evirober @ Jun 27 2010, 02:28 AM) Dear Guru's I am interested on getting the Alienware M11X with the i7 spec with 3 years complete warranty. I know this thread is pro alienware but at the cost of the product do u think its worth while to products comparable outside (i.e ASUS) Thank you M11X advantage is that its pretty small and easy to be carried anywhere. If you can find other laptop with that size that can deliver same performance and cheaper, go ahead. But you cant.

My first impression on M11X R2. They no longer has glossy back cover. It's matte now. Which is good.

Wow, it comes with a nice alien-looking theme, called AlienBreed. They also have a theme manager called AlienGUIse.

Bought a new matte screen protector for my M11X. With installation, the fella charged me RM50. I tried to put screen protector on lappy myself once. phailed miserably. Rather pay someone else to do it.

QUOTE(putochip123 @ Jul 1 2010, 09:36 PM) well, the speed of the proccessor is not depends on the frequency 1. Added on July 1, 2010, 9:37 pmwell, did u do FRPS or any software to detect the FPS? i had done, SU7300(overclocked) vs Core i7 640UM(overclocked), differences is 2FPS(comparing highest FRAME).... Too lazy and dint bother with numbers. But as I said, the performance is better in Sims 3 and Oblivion, which before I only had to use mid-settings, especially anti aliasing and it performance is only adequate. But now full ALL settings and its pretty smooth. Then again, I barely play other games. Portable Sims 3, Oblivion and DS games all year round! If at my house, already have an x-box. QUOTE(putochip123 @ Jul 2 2010, 12:13 AM) maybe u didnt really notice, just ur sense tell u is smoother, but fact is nothing big different LOL. Its not just my sense trust me. I've been playing those 2 games for a VERY long time to notice stuffs like that. Plus, I still have both games installed on my older M11X (Dell havent take that back yet, they ask me to backup first) and tried both games again and the new one provides better gaming experience. Especially when scrolling Sims 3 open hood, or when playing Oblivion in Open World. Last time my Sims 3 was only mid anti aliasing setting, and its only okay. Now full anti aliasing and its smoother than before. Same goes to my Oblivion. Last time just 2x anti aliasing and most shadow options turned off, its smooth indoors, but pretty laggy on open world. Now 8x anti aliasing and it works great. I think it depends on the games/software you used as well. This post has been edited by emino: Jul 2 2010, 06:19 AM
