A guy buy an Alienware M17x-R1, which have some issue of the touch pad, keyboard delay, graphic card driver, and also wireless, where he dont know how to solve, then blame the alienware M17x, and talk alot of "Stuff" in other's Alienware thread.

1 - those problem might due to buying ready unit of Alienware. ready unit of Alienware shouldn't be brought UNLESS you really trusted the seller that he/she never done anything unusual to the laptop.

2 - its not a problem in the first place, actually. it just simple cleanup and reinstall the drivers, something like that.

meh, let bygone be bygone smile.gif

doc, ready unit doesnt mean cannot buy ok? there are many type of ready unit. ^^

alot wei=.= if possible stay away from the i3 if u really wanna play decent games
*
+1, even game are more depends on GPU, but if the proccessor is away too low, it might become bottle neck for the performance, might pull down the FPS.

m15x and m17x are desktop-like lappie in which you cant expect long battery life for such monster spec machine.

I am using XPS currently and it is the same that my battery life for my XPS M1550 just last 1 hours++ nia
*
to add on, M15x with 9 cell have around 2hours power saving mode. For M17x around 1 hour only.
My friend brough a sager with GTX480M, can stand for 45 minutes with power saving tongue.gif tongue.gif

what i think also like this, but somebody might think of thier warranty issue, i can solve myself, so warranty is not my mainly concern

1.7Ghz sounds slow, if the application or game like julchin mention can utilise all thread, it will be come advantages compare to other proccessor which have 4 thread or 4 cores with 4 thread^^

star craft 2 is not utilising hyperthreading. so u wont gain any performance. core i7 720/740 QM will run SC2 at 2.4ghz(2Cores utilize)

For i7 720QM, its 1/1/6/9 with base multiplier 12x means it will have multiplier 12x for 4 and 3 cores, 18x for 2 cores and 21x for 1 cores...
since SC2 only use 2 cores, it will run 18x 133MHz = 2.4GHz...

as for i7 840QM, its 2/2/8/10 with base 14x  and i7 940XM, its 2/2/8/9 with base 16x....
*
thx lee, im also lee as well. haha. exactly what lee had clarify about the clock.
besides RE5, Batman Arkhrum also HT support game.
but in some games, while it support 2 Cores, u have HT, HT might decrease the performance, like crysis, HT and not HT have different, i think is around 10% like this

Really? I mean..lol 2.5ghz vs 2.9ghz, 400mhz oughta makes some difference.
Heh guess If i wanted to increase something, it'd be the graphic card.
