Yep, just as the title said. Looking for a speaker, I found a Z-103 for ~RM89, and a relatively new Evo-5 for around the same price. So, which one would be better worth the price? I've heard that sonic gear products are not really good, but taken into account the lower price of the Evo 5, which one is more worth it?
Thanks!

Well, in terms of RMS, Evo 5 is rated higher than the Z103, though it didn't say whether it's peak power or RMS power or anything in the SG website, so I just assumed it meant RMS.
Anyway, I asked because Sonic Gear seems to be not as well received from what I see here at this forum, with quite a bit of complaints. But the Evo 5 seems to be positioned as a higher end model compared to the Z103, in terms of the product lineup and the price.
So I was wondering, if pricing is not a concern at all, then which would be better compared head-to-head?
In terms of RMS, Evo 5 seems to be ahead, but has anyone here heard either one or both, and can you give a sort of subjective review/comparison?

well, i've been using Logitech for ages now, and very satisfied with each and every product. if it is a matter of my choice, i would prefer Z-103 for its design and brand name despite lesser power compared to Evo 5..

Okay then, since there's an overwhelming preference for the Z103. I'll be getting the Z103 then.

Okay, tested for a while, fresh out of the box. Now, I'm no audiophile, so this is just a very subjective review.
I've heard the Evo 5, and now the Z103. IMHO, for Z103, bass is a little weaker than I expected, okay, but of course cannot compare to higher end speakers like VS4121, what was I thinking? Anyway, Evo 5 seems to have a stronger, more boomy bass, but Z103 bass seems to be clearer or sharper or something, I might be mistaken.
The small sub of Z103 I've tested on the floor and on the table, and I think it should be placed on the table, absolutely no feeling at all on the floor.
In terms of features, both have bass controls, but the Evo5 has a treble control too. One thing I like about Z103 is the separate vol control from the sub, so I can place my sub anywhere I like, which is really nice. No need to reach over or under to change the volume.
Also, I have the feeling that although both are about the same in mids, Evo5 seems to have a more powerful bass, and Z103 slightly sharper highs?
In conclusion, I prefer the Z103 ever slightly over the Evo5, but I'm completely fine if I end up with the Evo5. Anyway, this is a really unprofessional review, so don't take my word for it.

Yeah, bought the Z103 already. So might be a little biased, but I feel that it's better than the Evo 5.

nice review though.. Z-103 seems to replace R-20 in some sense, which is also a good speaker..

Someone have been saved from sonic gear You should check out the speaker discovery channel and sonic gear thread whenever you're about to be seduced to buy sonic gear speakers. Higher rms doesn't mean more quality and it can lead to power inefficiency

Huh, the tweeter is fake? Wow, one of the reasons pulling me towards the Evo5 was that it has tweeters for the satellites. Hmm, now I'm even more in favor of the Z103...
