QUOTE(Optiplex330 @ Aug 9 2012, 04:43 PM) Many of those people know nothing and never read the car manual either. So instead, I pick up the car manual and the manual said to use 10W30. Personally, I would rather trust the car manual than those people. The "customer" Thundergod_CiD was referring to was probably me.Yes, I read the user manual and yes, COE poured 15w-50 oil into my FLX SE because that is the only Petronas fully-syn EO they carry (Petronas Syntium 1000). I didn't know they used such high viscosity fully-syn oil on my car because I specifically asked for 10w-40 fully-syn, which they don't have. By the time I realized it, it was too late. Don't make stupid assumptions like "Many of those people know nothing and never read the car manual either". I sent my car to Proton COE because it is a Proton car running on Campro engine. Apparently they thought it was OK to pour 15w-50 EO into my engine, so should I trust you or should I trust Proton and their "Lotus engineers"? |

I agree that 15w-50 is not suitable for my car, in fact I am still pissed. I ask for fully syn so that I may skip the 15k km service, but little did I know the only fully syn they have is 15w-50.
I am not blaming the mechanic, it is not them who made the decision to only stock 15w-50 fully syn in the first place. This is not some authorized SC, this is PROTON COE for pete's sake. This is a decision from higher up and only god knows why they think this is a good idea to introduce 15w-50 oil into our engines. Anyway, like I said, since it is a Proton endorsed oil, I am just gonna assume is good enough for the Campro and thats it. I will be servicing again at 15k and probably got for a 30 weight oil. |
