until now, the gps used in android phones need 3g or other paid data services in order to navigate? no other free one released?

paid apps can't be bought here in malaysia? then how m i going to buy any paid apps that i want here besides rooting my phone coz i know after rooting, i might void the warranty...
eventually if froyo 2.2 is out, we also nid to root the fon in order to get it?

I am also going to buy a desire soon. I have been looking around in this thread and reading the comments from users like u. There are some drawbacks which can be solved by the froyo 2.2. If really it came out, then the phone can say near perfect to date, or at least better than others and worth buying. Biggest concern now is, we don't even know whether we will get the update that soon or not or we don't even know we CAN get the update or not. I really want a bigger storage for apps. Hopefully everything can be solved with the released (let's see on the 23rd, if any miracles will happen).. hahaha

I would like to ask whats the difference btw AP set n ori set frm maxis,other than price? Should i buy desire now or wait for droid 2 which has better specs? I have waited for desire for quite sometime,n now there is another fon with better spec that is going to be released.

i bought it from maxis. the person there seems like don't really know about the new phone. He just asked me to register my phone in the htc website in order to get the warranty valid. Then, they (maxis) will help me to extend the warranty to 2 years. However, I can't find a way to register my warranty in the htc website. The only thing i see in the web is regarding the htc e-club. I wonder if it is the one.
