Hi Guys

Am quite a newbie here ,

I currently have an LG LH 20 , Astro Connected with composite cable( yellw white &red ). Meck DVD player connected with component cable ( Red Green blue white and red ).
am saving up for a media player and PS3 for my gaming needs . Im looking in the 600 plus range . POHD seems good and Oaktree also because it can record . Which would you guys recomend .

My main concern is a player that can play the widest range of formats because i will be copying movies from all my frens HDD.

I own a OAKTREE player, not a bad media player that can records. I recommend A.C. Ryan Playon! DVR HD, way much better in terms of features and support.

AVR = Audio Visuals Receiver..

I am using Eaget M9 HD DVR Media Player. I found the unit is very good. You just have to do some research. Lot of brand these days..

PS3 able to play Full HD 3D media, HDMI 1.4a, 7.1ch audio, so you dont need another media player, unless you support peer to peer movie/ media piracy.

Apart of media player PS3 also a BD player, Gaming console and wireless capability.

However, the extremely loud fan when the console gets heated up makes it a really poor media player. Unless you conceal the ps3 somewhere and keep it ventilate within the concealed area. Also, the PS3 consumes significantly more power over, say, a dune, PBO, PH, and etc.

I dont experience that fan loud symptom, maybe my AV cabinet is well ventilated.
