I currently have an LG LH 20 , Astro Connected with composite cable( yellw white &red ). Meck DVD player connected with component cable ( Red Green blue white and red ). am saving up for a media player and PS3 for my gaming needs . Im looking in the 600 plus range . DVR HD, way much better in terms of features and support.

PS3 able to play Full HD 3D media, HDMI 1.4a, 7.1ch audio, so you dont need another media player, unless you support peer to peer movie/ media piracy.
Apart of media player PS3 also a BD player, Gaming console and wireless capability.

Apart of media player PS3 also a BD player, Gaming console and wireless capability. However, the extremely loud fan when the console gets heated up makes it a really poor media player. Unless you conceal the ps3 somewhere and keep it ventilate within the concealed area. Also, the PS3 consumes significantly more power over, say, a dune, PBO, PH, and etc.

I dont experience that fan loud symptom, maybe my AV cabinet is well ventilated.
