hello am intersted in buying a 14 gaming laptop with good battery life but a bit confused about optimus/ati switchable technology.

is optimus solution superiour to ati solution? ie can ati switchable technology use updated graphics card drivers or are they specific to the laptop?

which of the laptops below use these technologies , i understand the asus a42ja and jv does not use these technologiesand has average battery life? Does the N43JQ use optimus?

Asus N43Jq, i7 740QM + nVidia GT425M@RM3999
Lenovo Y460, i5 460M + nVidia GT425M@RM2999
Asus A42Jv, i5 450M + nVidia GT335M@RM2599
Acer 4820TG, i5 460M + ATi HD5650@RM2599...

i asssume for the best power/battery the y460 and 4820tg are the best?

and the 425m is currently slower than 5650 but has potential to be faster as drivers mature, correct?
