Well, smaller notebook would be easier to bring around..
If you want one with similar performance and also can get longer battery life, consider Acer 4745G, i5 430M + ATi HD5470/GMA HD@RM2699 because it got switchable graphics card which can have both performance and battery life...

Why no Acer Aspire TimelineX 4820TG included?? That one the price already dropped to RM2699 , much lighter and got switchable GC too ...

got a question....

is 5450 or 5470 good enough to play casual games like Fifa Manager/Football Manager or even Hitman? Because I am looking to buy a laptop but it seems, like Monza said, the markets are so full with 5450 and 5750.

granted, 5450 and 5470 is dx11, but is it good enough?

For the games that you mentioned, it guess below medium is where you level it ..good enough is the right word, as Football Manager is not that graphic intensive games and HitMan also ...

If want something that in the level of mid-range, there HD5650,GT330M,GT335M & HD4670/HD4650 (but this is DX10 cards)

Compaq is on par with Acer but i can tell you that Acer is improving a lot now..rarely heard any defective unit from Acer anymore now ..Compaq also the same ..

Compaq CQ33, never heard of one ..sorry cannot help you about that one, if you can list down the detail spec then maybe i can give some feedback, but from the looks of it, seems like a good buy that CQ33

and Y460 is 14''....

One thing, HD5650 is DX11 card while GT335M is DX10.1 ..and just like lee said, its either ATi or Nvidia, both in similar performance

Hey guys, I'm planning on buying a new laptop before I go overseas to study in 2011 and I need a recommendation.

- Gaming (Team Fortress 2 and maybe MW2)
- Movies and Music
- Preferably not Acer (I heard it's pretty lousy?)
- Considerable weight (I am a guy so it won't be to bad if it's a little heavier than normal)
