Well, I wouldn't say it has a great build, but just average...
The Nvidia 310M is sufficient...
reliability wise, well, it has the same hardware as others notebook, back to luck, though you have the dell service to back it up...
The Asus a bit pricey due to its nvidia gt335m, one of the best available under 3K and also by default 2 years warranty...

hi all sifus, need recommendation for a new lappy. now eyeing Dell Inspiron 14R, Acer 4745G or HP Compaq CQ42 - all with i5 CPU.

1. Brand - as above
2. Budget - RM2-2.6k
3. Specs - more to multi-tasker machine. not a serious gamer, but for leisure time only. also looking for lappy which had no problem to run for another 3-4 years (might use AutoCAD in 2 years time since i'm 1st year engineering student)
4. Size - preferably 14"

thanks all smile.gif

Another choice would be Asus A42Dr, AMD N830 + ATi HD5470@RM2599...

From those 3, I would say either Dell Inspiron 14R, Acer 4745G
With the Inspiron 14R comes with better after sales and Acer 4745G have better battery life with its switchable gpu...

You mean comparison?
Sometimes can get it, but kinda hard to find specific model vs specific model...

Nvidia GT335M is more powerful than ATi HD5470...

Hi guys, I'm planning to get a Dell Inspiron 14R soon, and I'm just wondering, if I purchase from the shops at LYP, can I opt for extended warranty? I know if I order directly from dell, I can extend the warranty, but I'm not sure if the same is possible if I buy directly from the shops at LYP. Would you recommend buying direct from Dell or shops? (Need it quite urgent, hopefully before this weekend) Thanks guys! smile.gif

Another question if you don't mind, should I choose 3 years Limited warranty (RM287) or 2 years Dell Care Plus (RM314)? The 2 years is a bit more expensive (+RM27), but it has complete cover, which is useful if I accidentally dropped my laptop or something. But I also wish to extend the warranty as long as possible.. rclxub.gif

If require it urgently, better get it from shops.
I would still suggest the 3 years warranty...

Any netbook/notebook (10"-13") with HDMI at budget around RM1500?
Can u help me compare the MSI U210X vs MSI X340X? Which one is more worth buying?
*
The U210X would have better performance with its ati gpu, it would help better in hardware acceleration but in expense lower battery life compared to the intel counterpart...

Actually, Lenovo has better specs and cheaper price right?

Yup, but smaller screen and no FullHD...
and the Lenovo might be hard to find now...

So far still no complaint for 15R in this forum....
If Dell, want to consider Dell Studio XPS 16? P8700 + ATi HD4670, FullHD@RM2849, overall better performances and better screen...

Well, warranty is sort of insurance, you never know what will happen in the future....
If you want to extend the warranty, please do so when you are buying/customizing the laptop, else, the price would be much more expensive...

Premium no need, either get the limited or limited + complete cover would be sufficient...

If delivery time is not a problem, would be better to get it from Dell...

Can do it by credit card, bank draft, bank transfer, cheque...
delivery usually takes 1-2 weeks, but depends on parts...

Remember to use the coupon 99C$JN0?2KCPTZ to cut another RM50...
