well ,  you need international warranty.. so Asus is better choice.. it has 2 yrs international warranty.. and yes.. there are Asus Centre in Indonesia
while Acer also have.. but 1 year international warranty[depend on model]

2 pin charger is not possible.. usually there are 3 pin sweat.gif
about battery life.. hmm.. maybe around 4 hours sweat.gif
Asus A42Dr, AMD P320 + ATi HD5470@RM2299
Asus K40Ae, AMD M320 + ATi HD4200@RM1849
Asus A42F, i3 350M + Intel GMA@RM2399, freedos@RM2099
Asus K40Ie, T6570 + Nvidia 310M@RM2199
if you want Acer... go for
Acer 4740G, i3 330M + Nvidia 310M ,  3 years local warranty [included 1 year international warranty]@RM2239
Acer 4810TZ, SU4100, freeDOS@RM1999 1 year warranty [local + international] ..

but for acer.. it depends.. you need to ask the seller first.. sweat.gif

I just notice that there is no bluetooth for the majority of Asus laptops.

A bit disappointing.

Is 4741G Acer good?

Well, if its warranty concern, better take Asus....
The Acer is International Traveller's warranty...
4741G can just expect around 2-3 hours...

There are a few around there although Lenovo laptops seem to have a higher price tag

How about I choose this Acer model?

ACER ASPIRE 4551-1799

RM1799

AMD Athlon™ II dual-core processor P320

ATI Radeon™ HD 4250 Graphics with 256 MB of dedicated system

2GB DDR2 RAM

320GB SATA HDD

8X DVD-Super Multi double-layer drive

Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Got win 7 and less than RM2k, I feel like it's a steal although I wonder if there are any problems with this model.

Well, the main point is you want something with dedicated graphic card and as well long battery hours, the one fit your budget and has switchable graphic card is those two...
Asus wise, only comes with no switchable graphics under your budget, which translates to around max 2-3 hours battery life if you need dedicated graphics card for the games...

i nid a recommendation..

my budget is 3k max, nid 13" if can, 14" max..

must b either i5-520m or i5-450m.. with 500gb n 4gb ram (this one i can upgrade later)..

on my list is

asus a42jv
toshiba l645-1052x
dell vostro 3300...

the reason i put vostro is bcoz of its 13".. hard for me to find 13" notebook with my specs n my price range..

so any pro opinion on my list?

purpose for the lappie mostly for programming task.. but i nid the latest tech bcoz i deal with i.t tech apps most of the time....

thanx notworthy.gif

n inspiron got 1.3m webcam whre as vostro got 2m webcam..

n also inspiron use external odd where as vostro comes with odd..

but from the benchmark on passmark, i5-450m performs better than i5-520m, dunno whether its true or not...

inspiron 13r wins on gpu i guess, but i nid more on cpu as i will b doing a lot of programming n video editing, less on playing games, i guess nvidia 310m is enuff oledi for me to play light mmorpg..

in terms of build, dell laptop good? i mean the durability n reliability, assuming i take good care of it..

bcoz i dun own dell b4, so i dunno much bout dell laptops..

i've owned toshiba n asus b4, n i can say i m satisfied with both, its juz toshiba looks dull n asus a bit pricey...

Well, I wouldn't say it has a great build, but just average...
The Nvidia 310M is sufficient...
reliability wise, well, it has the same hardware as others notebook, back to luck, though you have the dell service to back it up...
The Asus a bit pricey due to its nvidia gt335m, one of the best available under 3K and also by default 2 years warranty...

Asus A42Dr, AMD N830 + ATi HD5470@RM2599
Dell Inspiron 15R, i3 330M + ATi HD5470, 2GB, Home Basic@RM2549

personally prefer A42Dr even though it's 14" and exceed the budget slightly... tri core is great for work...
