QUOTE(overfloe @ Aug 25 2010, 02:57 PM) Mr.Lee already gave u suggestions larDell M101Z would have much better performance.. Acer Timeline 1830TZ would have better battery life and probably less heat... Durability no one can say coz both are still quite new, not much ppl have used it long enough to prove it yet, but warranty services wise of course Dell better.. Added on August 25, 2010, 6:06 pm1 more thing about the Dell M101Z, if you wanna get that specs... Get it the K125 one then upgrade to K325 only around rm1600.... The ram you can buy urself around rm130-140 and upgrade.. Save rm60-70 This post has been edited by eugenechiuu: Aug 25 2010, 06:06 PM |

QUOTE(overfloe @ Aug 26 2010, 08:38 AM) that's why i'm asking for more inputs.. perhaps from the users.. Erm.. I think K325 outperforms the ULV processor by quite a lot.. I am not 100% sure but ask lee_what or astria to clarify this.. Yea the only downside for dell probably battery life.. M101z is still cheaper la even after 4gb ram upgrade..anyway i decided to take the acer 1830tz because it has better processor, longer battery life, better looking and got a free upgrade to 4GB ram. I wish I could test the m101z but it is not available in stores, only online. QUOTE(selinix @ Aug 26 2010, 01:56 PM) I am looking for a 13.3"/14.1" laptop for a friend. Preferably light and slim and not too heavy. Budget around RM3000. Any recommendation? asus u35jc |

Yea the only downside is the battery life.. Aroud 3-4 hours only according to engadget.. Our choices are pretty limited if we dun get nice netbooks like acer ao721 and asus1201n
Added on August 26, 2010, 4:48 pm QUOTE(J(o)y @ Aug 26 2010, 04:36 PM) I wouldn't use the word low for RM1,799 for a netbook. Adding ram is a normal thing to do.. Won't affect warranty la..Anyway, the lowest is RM1,499 actually, but it's with single core only and 2 GB RAM Added on August 26, 2010, 4:42 pm Why did u say Acer has better processor? Acer: Intel Pentium U5400 Dell: AMD® Nile™ Athlon II Neo K325 (Dual Core) for RM1,799 or AMD® Nile™ Athlon II Neo K125 (Single Core) for RM1,499 I thot the AMD nile is the latest, compared to Intel U5400? I'm also looking for netbook, and seems like most recomended Dell M101z. Added on August 26, 2010, 4:46 pm WIll this affect warranty? This post has been edited by eugenechiuu: Aug 26 2010, 04:48 PM |

QUOTE(zorbyss. @ Aug 26 2010, 09:47 PM) Then netbook is the way to go since you can them for 1-1.2kQUOTE(pandazhun @ Aug 26 2010, 10:14 PM) wanna buy laptop for casual usage, A42Jv FTW! U can get 1 with 2gb ram upgrade for around rm2.6k only... A52Jc is a lot lot more bigger/heavier if u seen the real thing b4.. Since size doesn't matter, A42Jv has much better specs than A52Jc and price is slightly cheaper also..not travelling too much but from penang to PJ,Doesnt really bring laptop to starbucks regularly. wanna look for smth that is good for watching movie, Gaming (PES / Football manager), Multimedia usage and surf net. considering 14 inch and 15inches does it really make so much diff and wont the graphic over 15' be worse than 14" Is Asus A42JV or A52JC good enough for me d? any recommendation ? considering Fujitsu & toshiba also. budget about RM2700 or less |

QUOTE(pandazhun @ Aug 26 2010, 10:39 PM) Is bigger size usually = better tahan in heat since ultra thin laptop usually heat up faster. not necessary... A42Jv is not ultra thin laptop larr.. just smaller in size... I think in terms of heat both are similar from what I've seen so far...at 1st thinking of A42Jv only but considering bigger size bcoz thinking it would be good to play game and watch Movie with a big screen laptop. Don't want regret carrying a big and heavy laptop..So I'm in dilemma. any other brand recommend? Fujitsu or Toshiba? heard Toshiba's screen view look better coz they manufacture TV screen? Erm if u wanna play games on it, A42Jv would outperform A52Jc by LOADS... class 2 GPU vs class 3 GPU yo... Toshiba n Fujitsu for similar specs would be out of ur budget lar... I am not sure about their models, could let someone else tell u bout it... Maybe can consider the new variant/model for Acer 4820TG which is retailing for around rm2699 next month (some forumers started selling dy somehow), performance wised slightly better than A42Jv but battery life much better... |

QUOTE(Kelv @ Aug 27 2010, 11:01 AM) For me personally, I would think that 14" still big. Go to Singapore to get 3820tg with HD5650 13.3" or smaller more ideal since I also travel from time to time. But too bad not much choice of powerful laptop of that size. Lookin for other powerful small laptop other than m11x. |

QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Aug 27 2010, 02:50 PM) The difference is very big eh based on my experience haha Actually 10.1 inch and 11.6 inch almost the same lar... 1 is 1024x768 resolution and another is 1366 x 768.. So the size of icons/text would be approx. the samePerhaps is because of different resolutions also Still my minimum is 11.6inch... if not too strain for the eyes |

QUOTE(xdw3irdxd @ Aug 27 2010, 03:41 PM) Asus U30jc(i7-620m), U45jc(i5-450) and dell vostro 3400(i5-520m)...all graphic card i think is 310m... What are your criterias?Above 3 models, which one is better?as in built quality, performance, long term used and overall? May u guys give some recommendation? I totally can not choose between this 3 laptop. If u just say like I'll definitely recommend A42Jv for around rm2.5k.... Cheap n gaming performance much better |

QUOTE(xdw3irdxd @ Aug 27 2010, 04:32 PM) the price of these 3 models are within my budget...as the built quality Asus from other forums is not that good where the keyboard problem, optimus problem, laptop got noise problem etc...i afraid that after i bought the asus not more than 1 year then some problems come out...I believe that U30jc spec is not bad above 3 models. How about U45jc, besides long batt life? vostro seen like a bit expensive in term of the spec of the other 2 models. I think u can still find leftover N82Jv lar in LYP if you try hard enough.. I rmb seeing it... Cause everyone would buy N82Jq instead nowadays..Besides these 3 models, any laptop recommendation which similar with above spec except acer? I dont like A42jv although the performance and price is reasonable. The reason is because the look quit plastic and easy get fingerprint around the laptop which make me feel irritated (maybe im too fussy Actually im looking for i7-620m processor which can deal with my programming project. i7-720qm consume much battery. At first im considering N82jv but stop production already. i7 processors at least around rm3.5k above lar.. |
