QUOTE(rexinzc @ Jul 3 2010, 02:09 AM) hi sifus, 4740G and 4741G, if you are refering to the same price and spec, they just differ in design...i am buying a new laptop by next week or maybe PC fair (hopefully will be cheaper) and i need recommendation pls i am wondering about Acer Aspire 4740G and Acer Aspire 4741G wats the diff?? can i noe which is better interms of proccessor and graphic performance?? my budget is rm2.5k i and looking either for a i3 or i5 with a good graphic card .. and wats the diff of HD4330 and 310M GF?? which is better?? thank you 4741G meant to replace 4740G... 310M is better than HD4330.. For budget RM2.5K, can consider Acer 4820TG, i5 430M + ATi HD5470/GMA HD@RM2599 Asus A42Dr, AMD N830 + ATi HD5470@RM2599 This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Jul 3 2010, 02:14 AM |

Those have similar performance, except the Toshiba M645 which is lower, the rest is just depends you like which brand
Just that don't have longer battery life time than M11x does... QUOTE(edmondyjh @ Jul 3 2010, 12:09 PM) Which setup?QUOTE(Trident @ Jul 3 2010, 11:09 AM) Hey guys Can last for 5 years or not, none can guarantee that, well unless you have insurance company to do that....1.Brand A reliable brand (good customer service , and possibly user friendly) 2.Budget Budget would be around 3-3.5k , 4k can also 3.Specs Im looking for a laptop which can last for 5 years Can handle engineering programs like Autocad and the like battery life more than 6 hours if possible 4.Size I dont mind if the screen size is small , as long as it shows the information thats there im fine the laptop should be light and portable enough to carry around college or uni additional info : 1. im starting college soon and my course requires me to complete a large number of assignments 2.im also flying off next year , so to make it easier to contact families and friends , ill be getting skype . so i think it would be good if the laptop had a built in webcam and came with a headset 3.im a light-medium gamer , the only game i'll play on the laptop would be football manager and maybe a few old games like company of heroes or left for dead 4.im not really computer savvy so if possible im trying to find a laptop which if possible has a 0% chance of getting viruses and does not have many technical problems . for example my sisters compaq's battery pack is already dead and she has to rely on the plug to keep it on 5.ive done my homework and people mainly recommended the thinkpad series , macbook pro and the dell latitude series. among these which is the best value ? 6.which companies have very good customer service in canada , because ill be heading there next year . and i need you guys to clarify this thing for me i heard ASUS laptops are good but they easily have problems with the specs and stuff which turns me off getting them .is this true in any sense ? 4. No laptop is virus-proof, its all depends on the user itself to take care of it...... 5. Those three are good, especially with their build quality, but Mac don't support AutoCAD natively, and with that budget, will need to sacrifice on performance side for the better built... As for cost effective notebook for now, considering 5 years is a long time and you in the middle of it, you might find the notebook is not enough anymore for your task, can consider Asus A42Jv, i4 450M + Nvidia GT335M@RM2999 which comes with 2 years global warranty... But you need to scratch that 6 hours battery requirement... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Jul 3 2010, 01:53 PM |

Perform similarly, the only difference is the CPU which you can't really feel significantly...
The price difference is because the N82Jv has USB3.0, bigger HDD, bigger RAM, and its a N-series.. |

QUOTE(GooD_DaY @ Jul 3 2010, 06:20 PM) ohh, thx for the prompt answer Nah, not true.but most of my friends told me that AMD's processor die faster, is it true? QUOTE(balckheadssux @ Jul 3 2010, 06:39 PM) hi guys, Can consider As i will be admitting to UNI soon which i will be staying @ hostel over there. Could you guys recommend me a laptop which is value for money. I dunnit any special function, just for me to ordinarily surf on the net, a lil on gaming, doing spreadsheet and the most would be doing presentation. Preferably below MYR2k and most importantly can last me for the whole 3-4years of uni life. Thanks in advance Lenovo G455, AMD M320 + ATi HD4550 DDR3 vram, freeDOS@RM1749 Fujitsu LH520, AMD P320 + ATi HD5430 @RM1899 QUOTE(avengers88 @ Jul 3 2010, 06:50 PM) What is the recommendation of Laptop below RM2k ? Can consider Preferably one that has good graphics and processor speed with RELIABLE brand ( dun really know what brand is truly reliable ) . Reliable in terms of not crashing or giving problems as such and also if there is problems , deal with warranty very well . Lenovo G455, AMD M320 + ATi HD4550 DDR3 vram, freeDOS@RM1749 Fujitsu LH520, AMD P320 + ATi HD5430 @RM1899 QUOTE(coffeebreak @ Jul 3 2010, 08:36 PM) 1. Brand. : Asus or Dell Strictly those brand,2. Budget. : 4k 3. Specs. : something for gaming which can last at least 4 years? 4. Size : at least 14" ? thanks! EDIT: got one question~ which one of the brand has international warranty? as im leaving overseas for studies soon 14'': Asus A42Jv, i5 450M + Nvidia GT335M@RM2999, comes default with 2 years international warranty 15.6'': Dell Studio XPS 16, i5 450M + ATi HD5730, FullHD@RM4102, need to upgrade to 3 years warranty for international warranty else can consider Lenovo Y460, i5 430M + ATi HD5650@RM3299~~i5 540M@RM3499, only ASEAN warranty though... QUOTE(rexinzc @ Jul 3 2010, 11:15 PM) hi hi refering to the above what if my strict budget is rm2.3k the most Can consider the new Acer 4741G, i5 450M + Nvidia 310M, freeDOS, 3 years@RM2299...what would u recommend me ?? is there any i3 or i5, with 310M GF and NO DOS?? i would certainly like to purchase that as i got my own GENUINE W7 PRO i would like to save the money for other purposes maybe considering upgrading the ram or the processor (if its i3 ) and HD This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Jul 4 2010, 12:47 AM |

QUOTE(rexinzc @ Jul 4 2010, 12:51 AM) Added on July 4, 2010, 2:18 amhi guys , may i ask whether 310M GF can support L4D2?? btw , i am also interested in : 1.Toshiba L510-B402, T6570 + ATi HD4570@RM2299 ~~freeDos@RM2099 2.MSI CX420X, i5 430M + ATi HD5470, 2 years@RM2299 3.Acer 4741G, i5 450M + Nvidia 310M, 3 years warranty@RM2299 sifus i would like to know which is the better laptop out of these 3 laptops , why no one sayin MSI is good? is it really that bad?? having alot of problem? or software problem? second is T6570 processor compare to i3 , which is better?? i am choosing these 3 is because of the Graphic card i heard. that 310M is very low end card. compare to HD 5470.. is that true?? if it is ? is it better to go for i5? rather than HD5470 for my tight budget? with i3 and 310M? thanks i3 would be slightly better than T6570, but just slightly... HD5470 would be better.... Gaming usually restricted by the GPU first... QUOTE(bleu_huh @ Jul 4 2010, 10:21 AM) is dell inspiron 13r good? In gaming, usually the bottleneck is the GPU, then comes CPU...
Getting a better GPU would give better improvement in gaming rather than getting better CPU but with poor GPU.... |

Both would have the simlar performance, just that the Acer 4745G would have better battery life since it got switchable GPU...

The 4745G seems like phased out and replaced by 4820TG by now, which priced at RM2699, same spec but with bigger battery life and thinner profile...

1. Not really, just that the A42Jv has better GPU for better gaming performance, what you want to use it for is up to you...
2. Raw performance wise, the intel still wins, what AMD offer is cheaper prices.... 3. Simply because in AMD usually plays in low budget notebook, you can't find any notebook offer AMD with high-end GPU.... 4. If only those two games, the Acer 4741G is sufficient.... QUOTE(nkarul85 @ Jul 6 2010, 05:23 PM) just asking GT330M > GT320M, which CS5 utilized CUDA (Nvidia)...wanna buy new lappy between hd5470 vs gt330 or gt320 witch one is good in photoshop (cs5) ?? Though better spend in bigger ram and cpu... This post has been edited by lee_what2004: Jul 6 2010, 06:34 PM |
