Well, one is 2 core and the other is 4 core...
If you need a lot of computing power, i7 is the way to go....

Basic spec of NP8690 is i5 450M with ATi HD5870 and 1600x900 screen, around RM4K from mucro.asia,  can upgrade the cpu up to i7 and 1920x1080 screen and also others like hdd, ram, etc...
