QUOTE(BuckRoger @ Jun 7 2011, 11:46 AM) i mean when i increase the shutter speed, the camera will paused tor a while to process. by the time i want to snap the second pictar the scene is already gone . & when i snap a moving pictar it looks like its paused. everything looks so clear even the background . too clean.. donno how to take a pic like : thing tt i focus looks still but the background looks like moving (something like blured) or else everything looks blured (when i reduce the shutter speed ) eg : » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This is not mine . the pic that i took will looks like the car is not moving at all or everything will be blured like the background The term for it is "panning". U need to position yourself so the subject moves from left to right or vice versa... track focus from one side.. move camera along and snap in the center. Use a shutter speed like 1/125 of a sec... depending on the speed of your subject. If you wanna take that in low light ... I guess u'll need a couple ten of thousand ringgit for pro gear.

Panning shots at night is entirely possible; I've not tried it with a point & shoot myself but with the correct settings and a fair amount of practice, it shouldn't be that hard... Not a P&S but some tips on the settings from my cam: Exposure 0.025 sec (1/40) Aperture f/5.6 Focal Length 49 mm ISO Speed 3200 Exposure Bias 0 EV Exposure 0.04 sec (1/25) Aperture f/5.0 Focal Length 40 mm ISO Speed 1250 Exposure Bias 0 EV Exposure 0.04 sec (1/25) Aperture f/4.0 Focal Length 29 mm ISO Speed 1600 Exposure Bias 0 EV

I think for the tilt shift picture if you don't blur the cars it will look nicer IMO

ahmike89: You cannot control the blur level in the camera mer? Even instagram also can control leh.
