QUOTE(chteh0721 @ May 26 2010, 02:07 PM) I seriously believe that MOST service centers do not carry engine oils from Shell. Most of them carry Petronas. If you want Shell, go to the authorized service outlets instead. From there, you can get many types of approved engine oil to use. I use Helix HX7 Semi In ur area however, i dunno la. Sorry. QUOTE(mafarizan @ May 26 2010, 02:42 PM) Just bought ceramic frt pad brake from Kelvin... Anyone knows how much for the installation cost and is it need to skimming (not sure the word) the disc rotor Wow...nice. HOw much was it and what brand? Can show us a photo of it??? Curious. Ok, installation cost at outside workshop usually ranges from RM20 to RM30. And NO you do not need / not necessary to skim the rotors UNLESS it is warped or causing vibrations. Because in good condition, you skim it, you will be throwing away precious life years out of the rotors. |

QUOTE(jasontantenghuat @ Jun 9 2010, 11:04 PM) What type of lock you bought? The one i'm using is the one you hook it to the under top part of the steering, then you have to turn like flattening roti canai. It will look as soon as the lock is pointing away from you and resting on the dashboard. It's pretty good. QUOTE(Sh@rty 5 @ Jun 9 2010, 11:24 PM) to bw frank those steering lock baseball type is actually not rel useful, troublesome is one, and that even small theif can unlock it if reli going for steering lock, i gues stoplock would be thebetter choice QUOTE(xterminator @ Jun 10 2010, 12:46 AM) Just in front of his own house.. Very normal.. didnt block any ppl.. I am using this... its cheap, damn blardy reliable, hard to break and far far far better any any steering locks out there. Plus, its portable except that it cannot be used in Kancil because of reasons i cannot recall right now (tested). How much is the log.. I maybe really need it.. I just shock wat happen, I thought my area here very peace.. This is the first time happen in my street here.. ![]() |

forgot whts the name of it... bought it years back... It was RM90 back then. Now i believe its RM100 to Rm115.
I love it because it locks the strongest part of a car and some more, the location of the lock and locking mechanism makes it hard for the culprit to cut or break open. definitely cant drive without brakes right? and some more, culprit will think twice of doing so since it is more time consuming to steal the car and time is everything to these bastards. and plus, its portable and acts as a deadly weapon when threaten on the road! QUOTE(muslayer @ Jun 10 2010, 12:21 PM) Wow is a bit way too much at 80k KM...If i were u, i already change at 70 ~75k range Timing belt is to be replaced at every 100k intervals. Usual recommendation would be 90k plus. Never had issues. Original should be better. If no more service and SC, can buy ownself and give a good outside workshop install...Cheaper than SC change UNLESS, fake belts were used then it will break far sooner which happened to me once when i was driving my old civic at 180kmh at 4k rpm plus and it snapped on me while its belt was used only about 60k plus. A lot of counterfeit timing belts around be careful of this. Original will stay on till its recommended replacement at every 100k interval. UNLESS, you are a track guy that red ines the car all the time then different story. Added on June 10, 2010, 3:24 pm QUOTE(heavencloud @ Jun 9 2010, 11:35 PM) wah... your bad luck knows no stop ermmm... impossible. Last year i went to kuching for almost a week and left my car. After got back, start my car like usual, and it started normally. 1. Battery given to you is perhaps an older aging unit. 2. Your car's alternator is not charging back enough. 3. Your battery's estimated life span is over. Usually its about 2 years or more. But heck, some cars like my ex myvi the battery only lasts almost 1 1/2 years. Felt like my car is a great fuel drinker... Yes hardly any difference. A bit only. But the big difference is that, these plugs lasts much longer. You are looking at at least 100k mileage (that's what they say). Added on June 11, 2010, 11:01 am I change my spark plug to Denso Iridium after my first service... Hardly notice the different.. NGK G-Power (platinum tipped just like iridium for the poor, like me |

QUOTE(roundedfly @ Jun 11 2010, 01:01 PM) hi guys,SERIOUS CASE on my Elegance yesterday NOT only bare the cost to repair the damn car. Replace a new one for you instead!!! Why repair the car which was damaged quite heavily due to their mechanical fault. You could got further by bringing this case to consumer body.just to share wit u all..now im at proton HQ kesas highway ..coz my car yesterday brake suddenly not working and goes bang the front car coz i cant stop.....so my bonnet and bumper goes rosak..and now still discussing how to solve the problem...this brake problem i've complaint since the 1st day i took the car and i've sent to glenmarie for claim it....then 2nd time complaint again in 1K service in glenmerie as well..then now is the 3rd time.it goes bang....haiz...3 super supervisor of their management come down and meet me to understnd about this problem...when i asked them issit im the 1st case on brake problem?he say " yes" dam it..i remember previously there were few ppl complaint about this brake problem, and i met few malay ppl who driving persona elegance here they mentioned they have the same problem, but they haven goes BANG like me....even ECU shut down suddenly and stop at highway......but then when they checking the car ,they talk secretly discussing among themselve...i cant hear anything @@.. so i dono wats the problem..at last 1 of the supervisor told me that mayb some batch is facing this problem but they canot let me know wats the "real problem" because they worry i will share wit u guys here online...as he told me = =..then i was nodoubt ..ok ..i respect ur rules n regulation in proton..but atleast fix my thing before im died...i told them..LOL...haiz...now still waiting..and they mentioned if really their problem, they will bare the cost of fixing my car...dam it.. i bet they sure cover this problem Added on June 11, 2010, 2:45 pm QUOTE(muslayer @ Jun 11 2010, 01:36 PM) Yeah.....I sense is problem with the New 32bit ECU. Sometimes thing cannot keep quiet, if the ask to. Alot more people drive elegance , a lot of live at stake too. Maybe a major recall for elegance model... QUOTE(muslayer @ Jun 11 2010, 01:42 PM) QUOTE(JonSpark @ Jun 11 2010, 01:48 PM) Yes true. I too seriously think that there's a lot of problems with new Personas (Elegance models). Seems like a lot to do with its 32 bit ecu and on others as well. Mine too (IAFM version) had one slight major problem which was the IAFM knocking but was replaced and its good till now. 2nd would be my warped front disc brake. To improve the stock brakes, i replaced the front pads to a much better one eg. Trestor Advantage. So far, i am happy with my IAFM version Persona. Coming to a year now.
