hey guys... just wanted to ask u guys here do anyone of you here replaced the crankshaft angle sensor? Last Sunday when i'm driving around Subang Parade, my Persona( auto, 1yr+) suddenly die off without any sign.... the engine just cut off.... when i try to start up the engine, the rpm meter shows 8000rpm but it just cant start. so i called my insurance tow service to tow my car to Proton SC Glenmarie. The SA there told me that it's because of this crankshaft angle sensor failure that give out this problem and he said that it's FAMOUS among persona.... this sensor cost around 100+... lucky my car is still under warranty....i changed it for free... but it took me one whole day!

bro, i experience the same problem just like u. i was driving down the hill when suddenly the engine died. i called a repairman from the nearest proton (bt caves) and explained the thingy (8000rpm when try to start) and straight away advices me to tow the car. snet it to the Mutiara Damansara Proton since i called proton bt caves they dun hav that sensor. i have to leave it there for a day since a lot of car on Q edi.changed and no charge since under warranty but not really beware~hope it wont happen again~ wow... i tot i'm the only unlucky guy that got this problem... did you ask the SA is this a common problem for Persona? because when i call i.care and told them my car model is persona... the guy straight away ask me the 8000rpm thingy.... |

QUOTE(jasondotcom @ Jul 3 2010, 08:31 PM) that sounds worrying. so what mileage does Persona usually developed this sensor problems? so the replacement sensors are improved sensors? not sure is the replaced unit is improved one or not... my car had this problem around 18k... but someone claims that they had the same problem much earlier.... there are no signs from the car before it die.... it just die without jerking or what so ever.... you will just feel your car become quiet in a sudden due to engine die... it's lucky for me because when the engine die off i was driving around the city...not highway. |

QUOTE(Exora7118 @ Jul 27 2010, 12:55 PM) updated! i had the same situation as you last time (2009 iafm AT)... the engine just cut off without any sign... it's because of the crankshaft angle sensor... when you try to start the engine... the rpm meter will show 8000rpm.... do you encounter this?after inspection of the specialist, they plug the computer diagnose into my car and find out it was the sensor faulty near the gearbox there, causing my car unable to start up... i was shock after they tell me, my battery was in good Condition ...>< aduhiii..... now i got no choice wonder i wanna send it to proton service center or not.... cause i call the eon sc regarding tis and they say may or maybe not charge, but nid to inspection further 1st... |

QUOTE(vivre @ Jul 26 2010, 08:53 PM) Ive lost hope with those buttons... They went down just one week after each repair.. and later sudah malas to go to SC.. at the end, never use those buttons anymore.. quite frustated with that particular feature.. huhu haha... i went to SC today...waited for 2hrs+...then only they tell me they gonna replace the buttons for me... but need to wait few days cause they need to order for me... i think it's better to use the buttons on the steering cz the stock head unit volume control is not those turning type like waja... need to poke... very hard to use while driving... |
