anyone have problem with the alarm before? a few times already it happen to me that when i want to lock my door with the alarm it wont work... it juz flash the hazard light few times but would not lock... and when im inside of it... the alarm light on the panel is blinking. tried the alarm reset also no response.. tried manually locking using key also cant...

latest FC for 56400km, 2007model, automatic....full tank=RM60/1.80 can clock around 450km+....

-mixed driving condition (city with jam & highway)
-speed 80-150km, federal,nkve,mex highway
-short traffic jam, waiting at traffic light, slowing down alot humps, rounding for parking in IKEA & 1Utama for parking,
-gear change a few times up 4000rpm but mostly 2000-3000rpm
-air cond on all the time only once in the morning off a while
-Esso RON95
seems that the FC gets even better compare to 20000km-30000km++...where that time will get around 330-350km even i drive gently..

I wonder can we use 5w40 full-syn oil on persona elegance?
i read the manual it said suggest to use 20w50, and will woid warrenty if use spec below this.

It can be safely confirmed that Proton’s R&D center now have their hands busy with the new Persona replacement model.An earlier report mentioned that the car was slated for launch in 2012, but it seemed that Proton now wants to try to bring it forward so that we can see the car as early as end of next year.The car is now in its test mule stage and Proton’s engineers are busy trying the dynamics of the car.

Hopefully, the new Phoenix turbo engine will be available in the new Persona, but a new transmission system is definitely a go.It was reported that Proton will stop using its current Mitsubishi sourced gearboxes and will move on to a Getrag 6-speed manual unit and a ZF sourced CVT gearbox.

any idea why gen2 is lower than Persona? I thought they are basically the same car except with extended boot and readjusted roof line for Persona??

yes. below is the comparison:-

- Gen2's front spring is different from persona whereby persona's is conical shaped at the top.
- Gen2 and persona shares the same rear springs though but i am not quite sure about the rear absorber.
- Gen2's front absorber is totally different from Persona because when compared side by side, gen2's absorber spring seat is about 1 whole inch lower than Persona's front shock absorber. I believe the rear absorber is also having such difference.

So if you guys wanna swap whole gen2 suspension to Persona, u can do so. Just need to buy new shocks x 4, new front gen2 spring and new front gen2 spring upper seat.

Rear absorber is still under independent investigation by me. 

btw, don u guys feel that the front suspension is kinda stiff under certain road condition?

on another issue... i am having some nyek nyek sound problem at the rear suspension. pls bear in mind that even before i replaced to low springs this has been an issue but i never really got to bring it up to SC.

anyone knows what is wrong? i highly suspect its the suspension arm rubber bushings being too "sticky" causing friction sound.

never use wd40 on rubber seals, bushes etc....... google it man.... it aint good for such things (rubbers).

i highly recommend silicone lubes either paste / gel or spray type. it costs more though. for example, wd40 cost around Rm10 whereas silicone ones would cost about RM20 to RM27.

the water hose that connect to the nozzle, i suspect it is loose 

Saw a lot of feedback saying that persona lack of power on low rev, i thought the IAFM technology designed to improve the low end rev while CPS for high end rev?
