Persona's acceleration sucks big time. Mid range to top speed and cornering the Vios will be smelling ur arse for sure. Campro's engine all suffer from lack of low end torque.

The days of proton being labeled as milo tin can is TOTALLY SOO YESTERDAY laaaa....... wake up la. I come from years of experience in loss adjuster industry and i have seen it all. Starting from Wira they improved quite a bit. And from Waja till Persona to Exora they just got far more better and better. Believe it or not... is all up to them. But in terms of QC... ya Proton still have years to catch up. Well at least they improved quite a lot after a wake up call that they are dying (many years ago). So thats why they woke up and made their improved QC model which is starting with the Persona which later saved their arse quite a bit. If you compare from Persona and their previous models before.... the built is far better than before with more paddings. No doubt they still have problems in other sections.

One cannot label a car's body as "lousy", "milo tin" etc etc.... by just using the damn hand to tap the car body listening to the sound. Do u know that many better cars or some nowadays come with some sort of padding stucked under the body shell to make it sound solid and etc? Dunno rite? i am 100% many do not know.

A car's body is measured PURELY by its strength of the chassis when encountering an accident. A easily dent on the body does not mean that the car is shit. It's the chassis that matters. And i can surely tell you that Proton has improved under this section over the years.

See like MyVi... front body is damn soft and ppl ketuk that its shit. But seriously these ppl who said so are retards and STUPID that ought to be slapped in the face. Why? Because they do not know why its purposely designed to be soft on the outer body. It's for pedestrian safety. But the chassis of the car is damn f***ing strong i can tell you that. You imagine, my friend was involved in a high speed crash with a HILUX and the ppl in the HILUX got broken legs and a fractured spinal cord whereas for him, just bruises ONLY. And the MyVi's doors can still open quite normally.

Again, i have seen it all. Being someone who work in this line does have advantage of seeing things that normal ppl won't and will never get to see.

Only non IAFM and IAFM have this problem, which applies to almost all Personas.

Lagi best if our Persona is CPS equipped, can smack Vios senseless.

That tire more than enough to beat vios because persona has more low center point of gravity than vios. Another issue is the use of tonsion beam at the rear of vios.

Actually I wouldn't recommend going head to head with your friend, dont care whether cornering or top speed. This is because as below:

You see, vios has a high rate getting into accidents if driving carelessly. You might want to read the MIROS guy as he will go into technical details.
U try searching persona in both blogs? Only 1 accident. That also is not the persona's fault. But condolences to the victims family though.



and speaking of which, early this morning, i saw one vios alone accident just before the puchong toll at LDP and earlier this month, vios accident alone in the Smart Tunnel

Seriously guys, I can't believe you are encouraging him to go head to head with the Vios guy. The Vios guy wants to be childish - so be it, why follow him being childish? Afterall the guy just bought a brand new car, maybe even his very first car so understandably he thinks his car is better because he wants to justify his purchase. To any other Personarians, please don't encourage reckless driving just because you want to keep your ego and think your car is the best. I, as one of the old timers (Persona non-IAFM) too, have always been bothered by Myvians and Viosers thinking they could drive like KL Jerit. Good that you feel so.. I'm glad I'm not the only "uncle" around here. Your life is at stake here. Think of it the other way, since its your FRIEND why not angkat him a bit? He just bought his new car let him lansi a bit lor.. When you've just got your Elegance, you'd want someone to say your car is nice and all that right? As to your question about performance, Persona will lose on pick up as its weak with its low end but at top end, the campro will really pull your butt off. Vios handling - i think this is no contest la, to put it short and simple - it sucks :-)

At the end i bought Persona ML (MT) . Been driving for 3 month, all i can say is, the car is superb handling, for the Price of RM 50k, some my friend is myVi owner sit my car, wah power , some more very stable and car more quite than his myvi.
Then i open the boot area, he shock see the boot space so huge.....
I reply " aiya this is proton only"

My Wira 3 gear auto also can own Vios... Persona no need say lar...

You tell your friend, "Your's not TRD or Vios Sportivo, not worth my petrol and time".

I reckon I should pop by and say hi since I got my Elegance (Auto) model already =) Been waiting for it for months!

Took it on a maiden voyage all the way from Ipoh to Kuantan! [o.O]

Anyways, some questions from a newbie auto-transmission user:
1. Noticing that it lacks power when going uphill (Genting road). Kancil oso potong me like nobody's business. What gear should I use when going up inclines like these?

2. I hate the latency between pedal and engine response. Since it's the fault of the drive-by-wire system, is there any way to improve this?

Mine ok. With 5 adults inside. Still can pecut up.

Let your car season sikit I think ok de, when I first got mine, it was damn sluggish. Even that hill in front Astro also like struggling. Now that hill... haha... child's play

1. when i go up..usually 2-3 people on board... i make sure the rpm is around 3000rpm above..and the car will move without any sluggish feel...
put 3rd, when just begin climbing....then 2nd when pass by the second police booth all the way to the temple where there is alot of steep curvy corners, i drop to L and press all the way till 6000rpm, L-2-L...if you want go up faster..other wise stick to 3rd/2nd will do.... ....

2.live with it...or another thing is you can try, before starting the car, press the accelerator fully then turn the key into "ON" position and leave it until you hear a click sound from throttle body..then turn off and release pedal...

Been driving my elegance H-Line for 5 days already. So far no prob except for wiper water nozzle no water come out when I press it.. should be blocked somewhere in the water line?

the water hose that connect to the nozzle, i suspect it is loose

sure the water pump broke like mine before
